wanna see some blatant CB intervention

UK gilts opened well down/rates up today as the mkts start to panic about the cretins running the joint ( about time )….yet for some strange reason, they soon eased off, rates down …..here is a chart of the 5 yr….with the present government, nobody sane would be buying them.

Re Burry…..Tks…Sods law at it’s best/worst….His mistake if I can say that, as he is certainly a great analyst, is that he used options, which if yr not spot on on timing, wreck any long term trade…I gather his great Big Short call also suffered from time decay, so he never banked the billions he should have.

Someone here once said that PM Mining shares are like a perpetual call option, without any real time decay…..we may soon hopefully see that play out.

Pennies

Posted by Maya @ 3:36 on November 14, 2025

Been a coin collector all my life but was very disappointed in the quality of the penny coinage after 1982 and stopped collecting them.  Gave my collection to nephew and urged him to finish out the modern penny series now that it’s going away.

The copper covered zinc is a poor choice of metals.  It is a biMetal battery.  Therefore it is self-deteriorating and rots easily with moisture and tiny bits of environmental acid.  New pennies left in soil for a year simply dissolve.  Only way to preserve them for collection is to catch them new & shiny and encapsulate in a dry, air tight container.

But I have many pounds of pre-1982 solid copper pennies stored in jars.

Btw although I hate to see those pennies go as it taught children how to save and a useful cover for more valuable things knowing thieves looking for bigger things will bypass them. For instance going to the ocean I removed my diamond earrings years back. I put them under some pennies I had in a cubby space in my car. I left them there. Days later my car was stolen. I got my car back but everything in it like camping gear water packets and mountain house type food bars for emergencies ect gone. They tore up the steering wheel to start the car.  But the pennies untouched and earrings still there. Also traveling you could burry smaller gold coins under the pennies.easily for emergencies especially these days if going to Europe.  Surprisingly theres a lot of pennies most don’t know are worth more than a penny even if not all copper.  If they checked eBay they would see that they may have had a bit of cash in those pennies they had put aside.  I don’t like to assume anything as you could be at least 50 percent wrong but likely over time they will become worth more when you can only buy them to get them. Plus I didn’t see they were canceled as redeemable just no longer minted. Plus you never know if you might need zinc.

It’s also good to know that Trump is looking around to stop any waistful spending.

Thanks, that is what I thought too that it might effect it while other just thinking about the pennies themselves but learned something by finding out myself how useful it is,  it’s relatively cheap compared to the vast industrial demand. It will have no real effect as it’s only a miniscule amount compared to other industries relentless needs.

goldi, re pennies

with no more pennies being produced, the reduction in demand will likely put downward pressure on zinc prices, and thus on zinc miners.  how much?  good question

it’s an ill wind that blows no good…

with less foodstamps in circulation than in the past, the stores have found themselves with overstocks of holiday food.  (less demand = less sales = merchants

cut prices.  economics 101.)

i found frozen young turkeys on sale for 49 cents a pound (!!!) at publix this afternoon.  time to fill the freezer.

Why Trump is suing BBC

Here’s one example on how they tried to set him up by splicing the video.

No mass pennies

Posted by goldielocks @ 20:03 on November 13, 2025

In 1793 a penny could get you a biscuit, a candle, or a piece of candy. Now it cost up to 4 cents to make.  They are no longer going to make them. That makes me wonder where the suppliers will move to or if they will be able to. Like zinc mining?

Sovereign countries better realize the UN is in on.this and from what I heard they leave their shoes at the door if you know what I mean. They need our money more than we need them. In fact what do we need them for and any money they do get seems to be used against us.

WAve C down now….very poss….also only 3 waves up so far, which a B should have .

Any ideas why this melt down is happening in everything.

Posted by Maddog @ 14:22 on November 13, 2025

Is this being triggered by Zelensky and Co cashing up, or is it the globalists trying to cause a mkt crash, to change the subject of Zelensky and co being overthrown…..yes the SM is overvalued..but why today.

I think the acquisition is a good move. It looks like they expect increased production coming on line so their results may look much improved in the future. I’m gonna eyeball it! 🙂

… always like to have Sprott participating!

USAS

Surprised Ipso, that they missed their EPS and quarterly revenue estimates, announce this deal, and the stock is only down .04 today… Go figure.

FWIW, Eric Sprott ( the largest shareholder) approves of this deal and says he will participate in the secondary offering to help pay for the deal.

deer, in the case of SVM,

$53m of the $55m charge is because the share price has gone up, per note 15 of the Sept 2025 accounts.

They issued $150m in convertible notes in 2024, convertible in 2029, at the conversion rate of 216 shares per $1,000, when the share price was $4.84. At 9/30 it was $8.71. So they converted at 9/30 they’d be issuing 216 shares per $1,000 of debt, with a share value of 216 x $8.71 = $1,881. The extra $881 is an effective loss to existing shareholders so it appears in the accounts, rather sneakily IMO, as an “adjustment”. Whereas in reality they are repaying $1,000 of debt with $1,881 worth of shares.

A good time to make acquisitions IMO I don’t own USAS. They’ve had a hard time making money in the past.

As ever we will only know afterwards……But I hear you….it is certainly as u say early to go flying higher, time is sure needed to correct lots of indicators, so u may well be right .we need a C down.

What I took away from recent action, is the speed of this last rally, says the Bull move is overall v strong….and any C down , may well be tame/sideways……..But as I said that B wave up, showed how the mkt wants to rally.

I am also watching the spreads in Shares vs Gold….we have yet to get a breakout and they look like they need time to build the power to breakout
