LOL, …but Three Mile Island was said to have been brought to a near miss to total meltdown by an overweight control room operator whose belly ‘apron’ obscured part of the control panel in front of him , or something of that nature .

Maybe obscured a warning light signalling a pending runaway that should have signalled him to scram the reaction (drop the absorber rods, to suck up the neutron flux and bring the reactor to forced shutdown ). The restart however is a lengthy process after a scram , resulting in a lot of lost generating revenue to the electrical utility .

Much better however to maintain a nuclear reaction margin of safety once criticality is achieved , rather than push the limit .

My crud scraping work was done following an orderly shutdown , when the entire reactor core would be emptied of fuel bundles and each one transferred to the spent fuel pool in an attached building via deep underwater channels . Every refuelling was a carefully choreographed operation . My work was on critical path since all other fuel movement was suspended while the fuel bundles I was to take crud samples from were brought to the edge of the fuel pool where my equipment was set up . I would typically be dressed out in full PC’s (protective clothing) ready to start at midnight , and on my feet working without a break of any kind , no food , no beverage , no bathroom breaks , non-stop until about five pm that afternoon . residual heat from the fuel elements heated the huge pool water volume to maybe 110 degrees , so I would lose 8 to 10 pounds of sweat in that one shift , obviating the need for a bathroom break during those 17 hours . That amount of lost electrolytes was a danger. When my shift was done , refuelling operations recommenced , my tech and I would doff our PC’s , get back into street clothes and pass through the radiation monitoring portals at the exit from each of the radiation control zones ( there were three before reaching plant exit and public areas ). We would return to our hotel and shower , meet in the lobby , and head out to a restaurant . Even though I had taken Gatorade after exiting , my arm muscles would lock up as I moved my fork to my mouth and have to pull it straight with the other arm . While reaching into my pocket to pay for my meal , my finger muscles would cramp and I would have to straighten them with my other hand . Had my heart muscles locked up , that would have finished me .
I was even called back out of retirement to do that work at a couple of plants .

…and it is time to end the ban on reprocessing nuclear fuel . Thorium exposed to neutrons – particularly slow neutrons as in CANDU heavy water systems can be a source of fissile uranium as a daughter product . Uranium fuel can be reprocessed to harvest plutonium to enrich thorium fuel .

I have worked in tobacco fields as a primer ( picking prime ripe leaves to be dried for cigar production ) and got tobacco poisoning ( similar to poison ivy ) – a possible precursor to skin cancer .
I have worked in the chemical industry where I was exposed to benzene , was gassed by a chlorine gas release , and have spent days on end scooping sludge out of a huge water tank , which yielded over 10 one hundred gallon drums of mercury .
I have worked in nuclear plants on four continents , and was at one time the only person in the world at the time scraping crud from spent nuclear fuel bundles at several US plants . Some of filtered samples would peg a G-M meter on the highest range setting , yet I held them briefly in my hand to load them into a lead cask ; and can honestly say my nuclear experience was the safest industry I have worked in.

Deer 79 wanted to post that video yesterday evening eastern time. Now they’re playing the bond market lol but if it does what he speculates with stops of course sounds like a long 7 yr  run.
His mention of the Boj is interesting but not sure in what context. Since it’s number three most important currency is maybe what he’s talking about so it’s important for the Gold bugs in US and Euro to watch if the yen starts to move back up so likely will gold.

That comedian hit the nail on the head. Cult followers in search of only what the salesman on the TV tells them . It’s so bad that even watching Fox News who didn’t do so well with Covid either but did research in other aspects of corruption was marked as anti cult followers with different excuses.
Its so bad that some ding bats blocked it from there TV so others including children the home couldn’t watch it maybe thinking it gave them some kind of brownie button, along with taking their clot shot making them a full fledge member and they can travel too while those anti cultist and informed that did their own research couldn’t.
A retired nurse who then joined a company that sends vetted people to visit the elderly  who can’t get out told me that she was there when the 90 ish woman’s daughter came by to take her to her doctor appointment when she  was watching Fox News.  The daughter got mad and threatened not to come over and help her if she keeps watching Fox. That’s crazy like they developed or had a potential not onjy to be easily brain washed but a mental illness it brought out.

Cult is right and these cult experts are usually trying to sell you something.
There are some real companies but you won’t see them out there trying to con you sell you something. They don’t dilute or sell their own shares to pay their bills like these others  who will steal your kids milk money nor have their best long term or even short term building blocks interest in mind, just theirs as long as they can play that carrot on the stick with stats unknown. I think that started when gold had a long run up with mild pull backs while they kept projecting higher and higher prices. They became the drowning man who will pull anyone else down to save themselves. If people don’t stop out under the carrot that’s their choice but I think this is the only sector where could continually with these juniors or minor mining stocks that could see shares go to penny’s or worthless holding long consecutively as in rinse and repeat.
Unfortunately the good and real leaders and explorers  because there in that sector with all those wanna be’s con artists  while they’re at it get pulled down with them but at least don’t leave your shares worthless and will give you more time to get out rather than take loses like these other parasites as long as if even they can hold through or think it’s even worth it to hope through unreasonable circumstances.
They’re not good long term investments but with the good ones worth online a small  amount, mainly because of so much dead weight around them and political dead weight that had long a run that brought in con games and cult self leading  salesman made them out to look like,  always saying just a little while longer for how long 10-30 yrs later? How many projections of “ next yr” never happened while they held long and lost money.
Now they are so desperate they seem to be gambling the demise of the country for good to go up. That’s no different than winning a battle and losing the war. In  the end they’ll lose and these companies like their country  will likely no more have a American name and all our ancestors who fought to keep us speaking English.

The author is almost as ‘brilliant’ as Biden and Biden’s government .
