If I were a conspiracy theorist I could envision someplace like Mars that would no way protect us from our sun  burning out, but becoming a perfect bunker and escape plan for the very rich. Be some asteroid heading for earth or total chaos and war and the perpetrators of it buying tickets. If that ever happened I hope the perpetrators money in this new world would be no good and no good there. They would probably have it all set up first as well as means to continue their life style.

Dollar flat, rates down almost 3 bips. SM down after unimpressive guidance by NVDA yesterday. Oil is up 1.5%

The usual weekly jobs report is out with some other eco data this am. Shouldn’t really matter much to pm’s, but if they want to attack us, they’ll use a “better than expected” jobless print to do it.

PM shares are steady in a weak SM. Hopefully our little sector can move higher despite the SM, but I don’t know, probably something I wouldn’t bet on.

It is said that the first travelers to Mars will be a one-way trip, about two months long.   There will be no coming back.  First thought is that I would not like to go.   But if I went, what would I take?  Again, nothing I could think of.  I would not want mementos to remind me of what I left behind and will never see again.  Some people DO have the ‘explorer gene’ and would love to dedicate their lives to forging forward for the human race.  Bless them.  I might have felt that way in my youth with my life as yet ‘unshaped’.  But for now, I am pleased with my life as is.  I had a fabulous life.  No regrets.

Because the SM is down. When I see days like this where gold is up but shares down, it usually means that gold will sell off as the day goes on.

I’m stunned by the dollar, it’s recovered all losses from the last two days. Crazy. We’re lucky gold is not getting crushed.
