That’s great that you and the Mrs. help to eradicate the outlaw ivy. It really is a blight on the urban forests in the NW. As far as blackberry bushes go … I thought they were native? At least they give some value in their berries.
Cheers

He says a lot of things against the status quo that people like, but he’s NOT saying things he should be saying like……
Why did the Debt of labor UNDERSTATE the cost of living index. The C.P.I. Consumer price index. Many many years they reported 2% when it was CLEARLY 7.5% avg for many years.
They screwed Soc Sec people OUT of many raises, and it artificially held down working people’s minimum wage and non union employment wage raises also held down.
They leave out food and energy? They used hedonics. They put computers in the CPI etc. Now TPTB are suffering with a weak economy, and too many non-performing loans.
Trump Also has to buy us, the people a media outlet. They used media in the past to stop people from smoking, conserve energy, use seat belts, hate Sadam Hussein, etc etc. A pro American, pro constitution, media could make Americans more patriotic, more loyal citizens etc.
He probably won’t be able to re-wright or cancel those “free (for all b/s) trade” treaties, but a media campaign for people to be patriotic, and avoid and boycott imports would be a solution without breaking the treaties.
Lets face it. These global corporations are boycotting US labor and taxes, and at the same time, profiting from US consumers, and USA tax incentives.
If Trump doesn’t start saying the RIGHT things, then we know he’s just another guy like Ron Reagan. A psychological boost for the masses, but nothing more. Reagan campaign was financed by TPTB if he agreed to take Bush as running mate.
In reality, Bush was the dominant person. Out sourcing started in EARNEST during Reagan ’81-’89. He even gave tax write offs for businesses to buy foreign made machinery. I’ll NEVER forget pro import media and the decades of screwing manufacturing productive businesses and people went thru.
He is not saying important things. So either he is not allowed to say certain things, or he himself does not want to say certain things that might hurt his nomination. Like suggesting a higher minimum wage. He stated he was AGAINST raising the minimum wage.
He also might not knowledgeable (up to speed) about the history of the US economy. When it peaked, why it peaked, why it declined, what happened, how it happened etc etc.
I was discussing this with a friend who told me to go to his site to see his objectives. I looked first at his tax plan and was NOT impressed at all. My note to my friend is below, showing parts of the plan and my opinion or comment that follows.
=====================================================
Part:
If you are single and earn less than $25,000, or married and jointly earn less than $50,000, you will not owe any income tax.
Comment:
Different areas of the country should have different tax rates and different minimum wage rates. Those numbers above are ok in rural states, but not adequate for our areas. Those numbers should be $40,000-$45,000 single, and $80,000 to $90,000 couples. Our $1.25/hr or $50/week minimum wage of the ’60s would need a factor of 15 to be equal. About $750/wk in todays money.
Part:
This lower tax rate cannot be for big business alone; it needs to help the small businesses that are the true engine of our economy. Right now, freelancers, sole proprietors, unincorporated small businesses and pass-through entities are taxed at the high personal income tax rates.
Comment:
Lets face it. Freelancers, sole proprietors, unincorporated small businesses etc never declare all their income anyway. Most business start ups I saw in my life time were coworkers, because employees had plenty of money left over after expenses (until 1975)to build up savings, to buy equipment, a cushion for unsteady income.
I read the whole thing re tax plan. Property taxes are way way out of line re avg wages. He said nothing about property taxes. They make rents too high.
My OPINION? People who benefit the MOST from gov’t, (police teachers gov’t vendors etc) tax absorbers, should be in higher tax brackets.
People who DON’T benefit from gov’t (private sector tax payer employment) should be in lower tax brackets.
Nothing matters now. The damage has been done. That’s why we have a “Trump”.
The funniest part was how the parrot was so animated, almost as if it really understood?
Court stenographer stuff was pretty funny too.
Hope you’re doing well ol’ buddy.
Mr. Copper – I really don’t know. What I do know is that whenever the commercials get lopsided to the short side like they are now on that report, gold and silver have been crushed. Begs the question, can the numbers be trusted? I have no idea, I hope not this time but history is not on our side.
Silverngold – I’m with you 100% on Trump, I pray for his safety. The more I listen to him and learn about Rubio and Cruz, the more I like him. Listened to a speech he gave in Arkansas today, he said Rubio bought a house in Florida for $178K and sold it to a lobbyist who had an agenda for $379K. Trump asked the question – “why wasn’t Rubio indicted”?
Great question. Unfortunately, that’s how the US Gov’t operates in our corrupt system.
a challenge, as summarized in the review linked below. For more than a decade now,in our retirement years Mrs. Equiz and I have been leading work crews in manual removal of English ivy and Himalayan (Armenian) blackberry on 6 acres of public urban woodland. Browsing of blackberry and ivy tops by goats would help, but the crucial step is to remove the root system of ivy vines and at least the root crown just below ground level of each blackberry stem. This is a labour intensive task, and for success requires repeat efforts in any one location. Goats do not target the below-ground portions of this non-native vine and shrub biomass. My vote is for human removal of English ivy and Armenian blackberry, using whatever cutting and digging tools are most comfortable to your grip.
Can we really depend on gov’t provided information to predict a trend? I opened the link, and surprised to see such a small number of traders influencing the volatile prices.

Oregon City sacks goat ground maintenance team
A crew of goats brought in to devour invasive plants at a popular park in Oregon’s state capital, Salem, have been fired because they ate indiscriminately, cost nearly five times as much as human landscapers and smelled far worse, a city official said on Friday.
The 75 billy and nanny goats were supposed to eat Armenian blackberry and English ivy and other invasive plants choking native vegetation across the 9.1-acre Minto-Brown Island Park, the city’s largest, in a pilot programme last autumn.
But the programme ended in November after six weeks, and Salem has no plans to renew it, Keith Keever, the city’s parks superintendent, said on Friday.

the COT report is incomprehensible. mike ballanger is
right- silver, gold, and the HUI are going down
the commercials added an incredible 31,000 gold shorts
and are now 163,000 net short. this is historical.
they added 4,000 silver shorts and are now 74,000
net short. also historical.
the HUI is holding up beautifully, but will probably,
correct just like the metals.
i got out of my 10 silver contracts. why fight
the Big Banks when they act like this?
best,
roger
COT Report is ugly again, today was ugly. Just wish that one time the commercials aka banksters would get punched in the mouth. I’m convinced the only reason they hold ANY long positions is to dump them on the market when the price goes up. Silver was down right depressing today. Dumped my EGO this am, fortunately for a profit, but no doubt I’ll get crushed on USLV. Nothing like pm’s in any market.

as soon as the SM slips, in pile the PM stox sellers.
Looks like they are pileing into the long Au short PM stox trade, guessing the rally is over.
GG has given them the excuse.
Here’s some dirt FWIW that might as well see the light of day.
gives a Rousing endorsement to TRUMP that takes the OXYGEN from Rubio’s room..

Why Brent Cook and Joe Mazumdar are doubling down on the exploration and the insights
TGR: Last summer when we talked, Brent, you compared the mining market to a wasteland. As we approach the other side of the junior mining equity valuation desert, how will we know if it is an oasis or a mirage?
BC: I envision the past four years as a tribe of the unwanted crawling across a foreboding abyss comparable to the Great Salt Lake desert in the middle of summer. It’s just been brutal. As we made our way across the salt flats people just lost the will, went broke and in general fell to the wayside one by one until there was only a small group of us left. But I think we’ve finally stumbled onto a bit of water. It does not appear to be alkaline. I think this is for real, but we have to remember that Donner Pass lies up ahead. You know how that turned out for the unprepared.
