They could have just shot her. What they did was rather barbaric.
I think there must have been more to the story. There were many French women, prostitutes etc who “gave their favors” to German troops and they weren’t killed at the end of the war. Whipped, shorn of their hair, ostracized perhaps but not killed in general. Perhaps she gave information as well …

I lived for three years in Brussels in the late 1970’s ( nuke power , Westinghouse ) , but on weekends had church assignmennts in various cities in that region of Belgium.
I met an old man on one assignment near the French border who was in the anti-Nazi underground , and to punish a female who had given her favors to German troops , they took her to the woods , tied her down , put a large church bell on her bare stomach and a large rat under the bell .
It ate its way out ! He relished telling the story . I had a hard time eating my lunch that day .

Don’t put off the hip replacement. You can’t ‘heal’ it when you are down to bone-on-bone grinding. I had bone spurs blooming around the edges of the ball joint that had to be ground off. I had a good ortho surgeon, board certified, with lots of good outcomes. I neglected to mention that with the meds, they gave me a week’s worth of Oxycodone also for severe pain. I only used that three times. I don’t like it. But I encourage you to get the hip done, and in rehab you will learn how much that helps your other problems. Hip replacement has become a well documented and standardized surgery now days.

No doubt $40 will get taken out in Sept.
I see $40+ silver, $4K gold and 600+ HUI by year end.
They will begin cutting in Sept. and probably keep cutting.
If that is the case, the wind is at our backs.

Almost forgot. I heard Gates didn’t discover anything. That he basically copied what was already around more compact and didn’t do too much until others took it from there, but only what I heard. . I didn’t know who either of them were, Gates or Jobs. I like Jobs computers better though back then. Even then Gates was up to no good trying to monopolize everything. I can only think of anyone following him must have criminal potential and only envy him for getting away with it, or blind

I left in the 80s to the mountains from LA and when I left computers were basically for medical or corporate information. After a bad quake in 71 I worried like others about them not having back up charts if they start putting everything on computers. When I came back in the 90s to the city still in the north though I was surprised at how far they came. I was so far behind I didn’t even know what a mouse was or did. As far as medical info, maps etc I thought that was great. So many were going into computers and spending hours learning it. Then the outsourcing and like you say others dominating took over and wondered what happen to all those people who spent all that time learning computer programming and what ever else they were learning went. I thought that was pretty messed up what they did to them. Now they’re probably going to try to do the same with AI killing both blue and white collar jobs. It should be meant to assist not replace. Any more than that I hope the people reject it like they did Bud Light and Cracker Barrel.
I remember those computers.

In the past, they would have been able to smash the metals today with strong GDP numbers … but everybody knows they are BS and fade them.
Let’s hope for the same tomorrow.

PCE is out tomorrow … no coincidence in terms of timing … so expect a dip initially … but hopefully a strong comeback as the day progresses … not that the monthly bars on gold and silver (most important) don’t have some room for weakness and would still look amazing.
Gold should convincingly push up through the triangle it’s been carving out over the past four months, and silver should break above $40 in September as well, with a strong showing here in August.
Bring it on

Well, I suppose they have to keep the crypto game going to give the impression that digital money has value until they implement their own digital currency. Makes sense.
As for Gates, he’s a real piece of work. I know his old man was a communist, so it runs in the family. I feel like I grew up with Gates, I was in the pc business at the beginning, and we were making the enclosures for the OEM’s back in the day. There were so many big names back then that have faded into the sunset. Gateway computer, Compaq, Sun Micro, even Dell has faded somewhat. I remember selling for a company in the mid 80’s that assembled circuit boards for Apple up in Cupertino, CA. Guys like Jobs and Wozniak were still accessible around the building. Quite a few companies I can’t remember anymore. Those were some good times in the late 80’s early 90’s. Talk about a boom.
The writing was on the wall back then. I started competing with Taiwan in manufacturing the enclosures. China had just barely got going but it was clear they would dominate. I sold in 97′ to a conglomerate owned by Emerson Electric. They shut it down by 2001.
The politicians sold the country out with free trade that was free for everyone except the U.S.
Anyhoo, I remember the articles of Gates and how he started Microsoft in his garage as this geeky kid. Now, I think he probably was doing something in his garage, but I’m not sure it was software. 🙂

I agree a surgery even other treatments won’t stop the symptoms if it’s not the right treatment or cure. Also have a higher pain tolerance than most including natural child birth. Not that I didn’t feel pain, brother I did lol Although younger then and with it knowing what many don’t other than accidents or the battle field if you don’t have to suffer don’t. It’s only purpose is to save your life or tell you something’s wrong. I also believe too much pain can kill you one way or another. The key is the CURE, cause and effect. Cure the cause cure the effect.
