Dollar up a bit, rates up 4 bips

Posted by Buygold @ 7:39 on February 10, 2023

pm’s flat, pm shares flat, SM futures down a little.

Looks like a boring day, just have to wait and see what this bull is going to do next, and how low we go before turning. Nothing is overbought and wasn’t really overbought when this correction started.

Ipso said it yesterday, a lot of burned folks in the sector – especially in the shares – so, we might have to go much higher before the public decides to join. Tough to get a sector moving that has underperformed for so long.

Silver is the early leader, up 1% or so. Gold up $7

Both had been down all evening but appear to be turning up.

Some damage done to the charts yesterday, the scum spoiled the potential breakout yet again.

We’ll see what today brings.

Whats Going On? Twelve Trading Days Ago We Were Flying High.

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 16:36 on February 9, 2023

I remember we bottomed Sept 26th, and doing great for four months until January 26th. Dow SnP bottomed the same time. Sept 26th. Dow SnP having trouble today may be dragging us down too.  Then again the dopey/dollar climbing since Feb 2nd.

Oh I forgot about the phony great jobs numbers last week plus we keep hearing about layoffs, must be hurting Dow SnP. Maybe the PMs will divorce from the general market soon. I doubt any miners are seeing any layoffs and the producers have to be making profits. I guess we just have to wait this out.

Fwiw I see this pause in the metals/shares as a healthy correction, to the recent rally…we did $350 straight up AU…..that was quite a run….a correction will load R 640’s slingshot

The lack of enthusiasm for mining shares is breathtaking

Re The 515,000 New Jobs Report? Watch It Get Revised.

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 9:44 on February 9, 2023

Gold was climbing nice and steady and tptb knew it would have broken thru $2,000/oz by today if they didn’t throw that phony jobs number stumbling block in front of it.
It was a real neat trick. Instead of  using a bigger rate hike, that would hurt the economy, collateral damage like during the ‘70s, so they wheeled out a crazy high jobs number instead. That’s ok let them knock themselves out.
And they have a lot of nerve suggesting higher wages causing inflation. Wages just try to keep up with inflation.

Hopefully we can get back up through $1900 before the week ends.

down 1/2%. Not translating into any big gains in the pm’s just yet, but we’ve got a chance. 🙂

SM futures ripping higher. Good start to the year so far for the SM.

Still a few hours from liftoff.

I’m not picking sides at all. All I do is scan for future trends and share them. I just sent an email to a friend how I see things 20 to 60 years ahead of society. Re the story, nothing stays the same. things change. Change is inevitable and people have to learn to accept it. Also sometimes an agreement is found out later to be a mistake. Like buyers or sellers remorse.

The native Indians sold Manhattan Island for $24 worth of trinkets. LOL. And look at the slave labor dealers and buyers. Had agreements that got screwed after the civil war.

Observation, chart, in a straight line left to right the USD with GLD overlay going back to 1/1/16 the US Dollar is up 10% while GLD is up 70%. That tells me gold is looking good USD not so good.

@ipso facto re Smart People Taking advantage of Dumb People, Until the Dumb People Gradually Smarten up.

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 11:23 on February 8, 2023

Re Miners in foreign lands having trouble maintaining the past. I remember you frowning on that every time a related story pops up.  Like I said after the ’08 meltdown and Bernie Madoff getting caught, everything is in reverse. Push coming to shove. I quoted “If you are getting away with something you better stop before you get caught.”

Even here in the USA the Americans are starting to complain about China buying up our farmland. And God only knows what else the foreigners own here. I’m a 3rd generation American and I’m for taxing the shit out of any foreigners taking advantage. or our dumb leadership and misinformed public.

But they are learning. Even gun control is evaporating. Because, they see, anybody body or criminal that wants a gun already has one without jumping thru hoops to get permission. So it makes no sense to make the good people jump thru hoops. The learning process is so slow.

Even the Global Powers are having trouble getting away with the past. What more can we ask? Life doesn’t get any better than this. Watching the past implode in slow motion. Each country should be a separate self reliant unit, like each house on Maple Place, and only import what is not available domestically.
