Just got jobless claims and they were “better than expected”. Usually not a big market mover but hitting the SM a bit and knocked gold back $4 for now.
Looks like the SM is in trouble again. Nasdaq down 1%.
Surprised we’re not getting hit harder.

Gold (GLD) has come back to flat, SLV still down a half percent. Oil is up 1/2%, USD up 1/3%
Seems to we we’re lucky to be flat this am, although I expect the real fireworks to come tomorrow morning after the jobs report.
Mentioned in a previous post that I thought this would be THE year for pm’s. I don’t know why I’d think that, other than every year I believe the same thing. The setup looks great for pm’s right now, but the scum is still in the game and they may matter more than any fundamentals or technicals.

It’s almost as if the SM is beginning to believe the Fed is going to raise rates higher and longer. I seriously doubt that, but it’s what the talking heads are saying.
Actually, the SM has been down pretty much the last 3 days while we are up. Not much, but maybe just an oversold bounce.
I’ve had the feeling that this would be THE year for us bugs, long way to go and lots of proving to do.

Boy really everything looks good, funny they all go up or they all go down, in general. The tankers were not hurt during that correction. I am under water on that long Silver AGQ, hold on. If Silver and Dollar keep going this way I’ll add to the loser. Now I’m thinking I should buy more AGI on this dip. It was the best performer that I know of after the Sept low.

Silver is the weak sister yet again, only question is whether it will drag gold down with it.
We have some eco data – PMI’s coming out in a couple of hours, they could move pm’s
Shares a little strong in the premarkets, maybe we got game.

Looks like the USD is giving up a quarter percent and pm’s are up around 1/2%. The SM futures have turned positive after being down triple digits.
So, maybe we have a chance to make it 3 up days in a row, just hope we get a little more than a point gain in the indexes/ETF’s.
I still think it comes down to the jobs report on Friday and that will be the best chance for us to turn this around. JMHO
