Galactic plane
It’s good were moving away from it I hope or got to figure something out because at first I thought were being flushed, drawn into the black hole. So there might be some unknowns ahead. If humans survive man made disasters I think as far as interesting times we haven’t seen nothing yet. If humans want to survive they better focus on that instead of their power and dominance trips. The continents are also going to move. They got the 5000 yrs wrong. Mathematically they might be able to zero into certain events and where we were positioned in the plain at that time.
- Current Position: We sit about 26,600 light-years away from Sagittarius A*, the supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way.
- Orbital Speed: The Sun and all its planets orbit the galactic center at about 220 to 240 kilometers per second (approx. 828,000 km/h).
- Galactic Year: It takes our solar system roughly 225 to 250 million years to complete one full revolution around the galaxy.
- Up-and-Down Bobbing: As the solar system orbits, it also oscillates vertically, bobbing slightly above and below the galactic plane every 30 to 64 million years. We last crossed the plane roughly 3 million years ago and are currently moving further away from it. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
