I was thinking that in this Iran war we are lucky to have the carriers. All of our nearby military bases have successfully attacked by ballistic missiles and drones. At least the carriers were alternate platforms to launch attacks. No carriers were lost in the war and I don’t know if any were heavily damaged or not!
You’re right though with advent of modern hypersonic missiles the days of the carrier are numbered.
