Loading ...Yep, they claim they’re doing it to keep housing cost down. To a great extent that’s total BS. They’re doing it out of selfish greed. For one replacing roofs is not building houses, nor is agriculture, nor is a lot of these contractors selling the houses if they are being built. That would mostly have to do with costs of supplies. Plus they till need American skilled workers to instruct in sturdy buildings to higher standards or knowledge in building codes to monitor and inspect. Then they can hire a supervisor under them who can translate.
I do disagree that they aren’t making things. Building, roofing, agriculture are making things. They’re making a roof over your head or food on the table. I do agree many could be underpaid. But what most people who never lived in a border state although after the lefties all towns are border states now is they use the tax payer to subsidize these companies who under pay these migrants. It comes from everywhere, rich getting richer everyone else getting poorer. Migrants don’t have to claim their husbands who are non citizens and aren’t to easily tracked when applying for welfare. So they can get married, have kids and get welfare and food stamps and in border states free health care. They can make more money between free health care, food and money from the state than a American couple. They may be getting less pay but are over compensated with free food, free healthcare, and cash for having kids. This and generational welfare has caused that safety net for what was meant for American women who were being underpaid for decades even if more educated than male dominated jobs while these migrants can stay home.
