Okay good to know. 👍
Armstrong a new one
Computer says gold going down now but gold going up in 2027 all the way to 2032 to anywhere from 7 to 11K . Then update what’s going on with some recap.
goldielocks @ 23:47
LOL I’ll keep that in mind.
Buygold … Good to see you made it!
Well surely not today, metals falling apart again
Dollar moving up, oil down, rates flat. SM and Bitcoin up slightly.
It’s pretty much impossible to make sense of this stuff.
I guess the smart money sold the shares in the last two minutes yesterday. Two bits says they negate that GDX breakout today.
Seriously, WTF?
Ipso – yep
Back in as well too brother. Thank you!
ipso
Thank you for being there and for your help and on behalf of others. But when it comes to computers if you ever get a message on oasis under someone else’s name even yours that says something like, where am I? I’m stuck in here! Can you get me out of here? Anybody out there? That’s probably me.
goldielocks and aufever
Bueno! 🙂
ipso
I’m in now
ipso
my experience the other day led me to a place with white screen background with posts and edits ??? edit anybody? Am I supposed to be here I thought? Afraid to touch anything with you.know me and computers got out and logged back in voila to the regular screen.
ferrett
Thanks maybe that’ll help some people.
ipso, just waited.
Got the screen to register an issue first, as you saw. Subsequently, it diverted to an Error 403 screen, then eventually it let me log back in. I’m assuming it was a WordPress issue.
ferrett
So you had some trouble logging in today? Other people are having problems as well. What did you do to make it work?
ferrett
I agree. Modern farming practices can have a deleterious effect on the land. It’ll be hard to change this system.
ipso, absolutely!
You can measure a country’s level of economic activity by its sulphuric acid consumption. Probably more accurate than GDP. But for long term global food security we must wean ourselves off artificial fertilisers by growing good, healthy soil rather than what we do at the moment, which is basically using dirt aquaponically.
ferrett @ 18:13
I’m sure there are other uses of sulfur as well. The universe is at our fingertips!

Sulfur is used in various applications, including the production of sulfuric acid, fertilizers, and in the vulcanization of rubber. It also plays a role in the manufacturing of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and as a fungicide in agriculture.

Overview of Sulfur Uses
Sulfur is a versatile element with a wide range of applications across various industries. Its unique properties make it essential in many processes, particularly in agriculture, manufacturing, and healthcare.
Key Applications of Sulfur
Industrial Uses
Sulfuric Acid Production: The majority of sulfur produced is used to manufacture sulfuric acid, a critical chemical in various industries.
Fertilizers: Sulfur is vital for producing phosphate fertilizers, which enhance agricultural productivity.
Rubber Vulcanization: It strengthens rubber, making it more durable and elastic, which is crucial for products like tires.
Agricultural Uses
Fungicides and Pesticides: Sulfur compounds are used to control pests and diseases in crops, especially in organic farming.
Soil Amendment: It helps correct soil pH and provides essential nutrients to plants.
Pharmaceutical Uses
Skin Treatments: Sulfur is included in topical medications for conditions like acne and seborrheic dermatitis due to its antimicrobial properties.
ipso, no, I don’t think it’s right.
“Sulfur is usually applied in pasture fertiliser programs but may not be required where the soil is cultivated for cropping, especially where the soil organic matter level is high.”
Not a critical fertiliser if you have proper soil.

Almost half of the arable farmland and fresh water in Yemen is dedicated to khat growing

I want to make sure I’m understanding this right.
-We need sulfur for fertilizer for food production.
-Chinese state firms are buying up our sulfur while Beijing restricts its own fertilizer exports to keep prices high.
-So sulfur has jumped from $172 a ton to $1,100–$1,200.
-Plants are already cutting production and laying people off, and once that capacity is gone it doesn’t come back before the next crop.
We need to keep the sulfur here or we start importing the ability to grow food.
silver…
not complaining, but what happened just past noon (u s. east coast time) today?
i like it, i just wonder what’s going on.
Maddog, thanx for the answer (a minute before the question).
