And although I’ve always thought your presidential system weird, it does at least give a chance for the country to elect a rogue guy who doesn’t have to go through interminable selection and election processes just to get on the ticket. That is, he has to prove himself to be ‘sound’ to the selectors, not going to ‘rock the boat’, preferably not too bright or prone to think for himself.
