- He who hesitates is lost/dead/sworn at/blasted with the horn. There’s a guy crossing from the left who sees the bike and pauses – wrong! If he’d continued dawdling across the road the bike was already on a course to miss him by an inch. As he does with all the other pedestrians, shopping trolleys and mobile letterboxes.
- Vehicles give way to anything coming from the right, and in front of them. Anything. If you want to swerve left then do so. The driver on your right will give way, even though you didn’t indicate, suddenly accelerated or braked. The white van at the beginning did so.
