Maya – I rode on an Italian version of the tilt train in the 1980’s or 90’s

I think it was called ‘Pendolino’. When the train went into a curve faster than the design speed banking of the rails , the coaches tilted for passenger comfort and the safety of anyone walking in the aisle .

On that note , a week ago? the Daytona 500 was to have been run . The banking on that , and other high speed NASCAR tracks is extremely steep to permit the cars to navigate the turns at close to 200 mph .
As a child I saw an attraction at a fair with a vertical wood walled motorcycle track with transition banking allowed a rider to accelerate up to a speed which permitted the bike and rider to run perpendicular to the wall .
