As I looked back through the years of being a nurse I kinda thought to myself I figured out why I survived, because God thinks I didn’t have enough punishment yet. If you’ve ever been a nurse you’d understand that. Kidding aside, after I survived already a nurse at 21 I immediately caused a board meeting about student doctors in ego trips running around unsupervised and what their causing. It caused immediate changes in obstetrics that likely saves a lot of lives or injuries for both women and their babies. They were scared shitless I was going to sue them. My mind set then was vengeance is mine says the lord and it will be. They wouldn’t let the fathers in the room. I told them I know why they’d kill them. They also changed it so the fathers could be there.

You have to keep in mind one thing though. Remember he talked about arrogance. Imagine if you were in a place like war or a disaster where many people around you died. How do you think the family of those people who died would feel when you say God saved me, even those that’s human nature, they’re hearing but not them. One thing you learn is God knows what’s going to happen already. Remember how Jesus spoke to Judas telling him what he was going to do. You feel that even stronger on the other side. He already knows. Perhaps he didn’t pick and choose, that’s all man made.
Your right about being true to self. Parents can even be guilty of doing that not purposely but fail to see a child’s feeling. Like you don’t want that when they do instead of acknowledging their feelings and why they can’t have it.
Same with fear or instincts which can save their lives. To to learn to rationalize them or over come them. This could also be spiritual. For instance “ something told me to check on the baby.” And not let prior talk by others and not going with your instincts and being true to yourself and check on the baby.
