BTW – It would not surprise me to see Colombia drop the ‘mil’ designation on money . Just a few years ago the notes had all the zeroes on them . Then 10 000 notes became 10 Mil notes , and in common parlance the people just say ‘diez’ (ten for folks here) pesos instead of ‘diez mil’ (ten thousand pesos ). That way , the latest Bolivar and Colombian Peso would both have values in the same ballpark – about 4 per US$ .
