Huawei’s Meng Wanzhou expected to plead guilty today in U.S. court: sources
Chinese tech executive Meng Wanzhou is expected to appear virtually in an American federal courtroom today to plead guilty in the U.S. proceedings against her, say sources.
The Huawei Technologies chief financial officer will pay a fine as part of a plea deal, said the sources, who were not authorized to speak publicly.
Her court appearance was first reported by Reuters.
Sources said if the New York court accepts the deal, Canadian Crown attorneys will appear in a Vancouver court later today to stay extradition proceedings against Meng. She could be free of house arrest as early as today.
The U.S. District Court said Meng will appear virtually at 1 p.m. ET in a Brooklyn courtroom to address a “resolution of the charges against the defendant in this matter.”

A very successful friend of mine, a real estate builder, mostly small industrial buildings, BEFORE 2008, tore down his existing 10 unit apartments structure, looked like a motel, to redevelop the property to 12 high end Town Houses.
They were beautiful. Two floors, and basement. Very high end materials inside and outside. A stream bordering the property. During the post 9/11 real estate boom, he was planning on $479k each. Turned out so many delays, for permits etc, and by the time he finished, the real estate crash unfolded. Taxes were $6,000 per unit, $72,000 per year he had to pay.
He was so desperate, he wanted me to buy the best one for $350k. Then he started renting them with option to buy. He was very upset about what happened, it was a very big investment for him. I told him, “Steve, its not your fault, you didn’t do anything wrong, “the system makes dumb people look smart, and smart people look dumb”.
Steve being the wise ass as he is says to me. He knew gold miner stocks were doing great, “is that why you look smart now”? LOL. He was looking smart since he graduated high school, became an industrial electrician with a few employees, and put all his profits into real estate, so that dummy looked smart until the ’08 dive. He eventually got rid of them and the tax bills.

Supplies slowed due to Covid they say. Shipping containers were 2000 now up to 12 thousand. Christmas shopping shop now delays can be long.
My youngest grandsons parents thought I was nuts. About a couple months ago they got 8 boxes of nikes for my grandson.
Different sizes to last him the next 5 or 6 years. They thought what heck plus they were majorly on sale as low as 45 dollars from Nike store.
I said supplies so he has shoes hearing the stories during the depression times.
Now on news Nike supply troubles and prices will rise too.

Trust is probably the key word in this whole discussion. Fiat only exists because we trust the people who are managing them to maintain their value. You take the trust away and there is nothing there. A fiat currency is not a real thing. It doesn’t actually exist other than little pieces of paper that have no intrinsic value or computer code, which also has no intrinsic value. So, you take away the trust that we had in the Fed, Treasury, Congress and the President to do the right thing, and be honest, when it comes to the financial markets, you take that away and there really isn’t anything there. Nobody would want to hold a currency managed by people they can’t trust. Pay attention to that because the less we trust the guys in charge, the less we trust the currency.

It just doesn’t matter about any past relationships, the scum have broken them all, at one time or another. The dollar has fallen and risen last two days, but Gold has sold off both days.
A mate who is a v good trader bought Gold last Thursday, saying it has to go up, as it is the only place left etc……he now looks stupid, which he is anything but. It shud be the goto mkt right now, but the scum ensure it is the exact reverse.
An awful lot of so called smart traders investors are losing money and being made to look stupid, by the scum…but just as with anything that effects the elite running the show, no mainstream journo or publication/channel will touch the subject…..but as my wife says give up now and you’ll find the bottom.

Unfortunately when it got crushed yesterday it didn’t help us. Now it looks like we lost our window to rally – that’s if the scum would have even allowed a window to open.

China hasn’t really jumped in yet but we’ll see where it goes. The Taliban needs money, that’ll be some incentive for them to try and make things run smoothly. On the other hand there’s a lot of factions there and IEDs are easy.
