We’re contacting the dealer as regards the warranty as there’s other stuff which needs to be done.
Most likely it is just the gasket or even tightening the bolts which will fix it.

Call the dealer immediately and explain excessive usage. Don’t accept instruction to monitor it (you should anyway) ask for an oil consumption test and schedule an appointment. Dealer will track usage and if it’s within their parameters do nothing further, if excessive replace engine.
Excessive oil usage presages engine failure. The 2.0 and 2.4 liter engines are notorious for failure, a well known attribute by the manufacturer and dealer. Should be a lifetime warranty on engine for original owner.
Follow through, your engine will eventually fail.

She was 2 quarts low when I checked her oil last week so she had em look and see if she had a leak. They said the oil pan was leaking and the gasket needs to be replaced. They quoted her $229 plus tax!
Dollars to donuts she just needs to have the bolts tightened on the oil pan. It’ll probably take me 10 minutes.
No wonder people think mechanics are crooks!
