parts: (Reuters) – U.S. mining companies are blasting proposals in Congress that would set royalties for copper, lithium and other minerals extracted from federal land, with executives saying the measures would hurt domestic production of the building blocks for solar panels, electric vehicles and other green technologies.

I’ve bought a couple of different names today for a day trade, although only 2 of 3 are sort of working out.
I’m concerned that the HUI has broken 240 and that gold and silver have been crushed today.
No doubt we will get downside follow through tomorrow. That’s just the way pm’s roll unfortunately.

So who do we think would be the bravest confident wealthiest buyers of lower priced gold contracts, to take delivery? Foreign central banks? Some foreign gov’ts?
Now who would be the most frightened, scared money gamblers panic selling their contracts they bought a lot higher on huge margin, and have zero ability to take delivery? The gamblers that like to lose money?

OTOH, my charts say the shares are going to make new lows this month, with HUI ~210-215, and XAU~118-120…FWIW! Then it’s off to the races for Silverngold! IMO great time to buy more!

I’m not sure what changed overnight, but something did. We have seen this so many times before. None of it makes sense given the way the economy is going. The USD and rates are both moving higher. Craziness.
PM’s have never made sense though. Unfortunately I have no intention of riding this sinking ship. Long term hold of pm shares is always a losing proposition.

Many years back someone who worked for the local government, in the state of Victoria Australia wrote a paper explaining how under the excuse of safety, the State could introduce all sorts of petty restrictions and then ‘police’ them by fining citizens for breaking them. The ideal one was speeding fines, as who can ague that speeding is not dangerous etc.
The basis of the paper was how the policy could be used as significant revenue stream….It is now impossible to find that paper, or any mention of it.
