I suspected it was exaggerated from the start, with reporting so many deaths over 85 years old or “complications from” a lot. They got us overly scared, and now they have to wind it down.
Maybe “they” were afraid of a hyperinflation from an over heated economy, and wanted to slow it down? Without raising rates? My original thought was they needed to create a new better system, and needed to shut the old one down, and create a big stress test first.
