Argentina Default Fear Looms as Traders Dump Assets

(Bloomberg) — Suddenly, fears of a full-blown financial crisis in Argentina have once again come rushing to the fore.

In the wake of President Mauricio Macri’s stunning rout in primary elections over the weekend, investors dumped its stocks, bonds and currency en masse in a selloff that left much of Wall Street wondering whether the crisis-prone country was headed for yet another default.

The upset, widely seen as a preview of October’s presidential vote, threw the doors open to the very real possibility a more protectionist government will take power come December and unravel the hard-won gains that Macri made to regain the trust of the international markets. It deepened worries his populist opponent, Alberto Fernandez, and running mate, former president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, will try to renegotiate its debts as well as its agreements with the International Monetary Fund. The country has billions in foreign-currency debt due over the coming year.

So what?….so buyers are jumping on dsicounted DUST…I started noticing this interest in DUST on the last day when silver was up 80 cents…that. day DUST had 4 times the avg. daily volume–on that day DUST gapped down to 6.40 on the open and traded a high of about 7.15…I think it closed. at 6.80 or 6.90…DUST did not. have this. volume or volatility until recently…

They’ve been chipping away at gold for the last half hour.

We’ll see if we can hold these gains into the open. Silver looks better though.

I guess when they finally take their boots off NEM then we’ll know it’s time for the shares to explode.

No doubt a little USD weakness should add some fuel to the fire.

Scum is working to bring the futures back in the US markets.

I can’t figure out the nice rise in pm’s this am, but that’s OK – I don’t need to know the why. 🙂

Today will be fascinating for the shares, they shud go ape….but I wonder if they will, as it seems the real buying is Physical metal almost certainly out of the Far East and India Pakistan etc….we may have to wait until people work out that PM shares can pay an ever increasing dividend, in a negative interest rate world and then the shares will go ape…prior to that the scum will try to contain them and NEM looks to be the main vehicle.

Whisper it, but the Dollar is looking soft…if eur/usd takes out 1.1250..next stop 1.14, then the recent Hi’s 1.2560 !!!!!

So was yesterday’s takedown of the shares yet another attempt of the manipulators to shake the pm tree?

I guess the T/A types will be looking for a blow off top – hope this isn’t it.

Same here and also saw clouds I haven’t seen in I don’t know how long the other day. I’m suspicious though if they’re trying something else not so apparent. I still see a very faint whitish film but could be smog. One thing for sure with this sudden stop or decrease people who said it was normal air traffic just got debunked. Although some I think really think it is normal.

After the big earthquake at China Lake, some of the Q folk were saying that Trump took out the chemtrail spewing.

(Sorry, the correct term is geo-engineering)

Anyhow, for several weeks, I watched the skies, and day after day, there was no hatching, no planes spewing who knows what,, unlike what it’s been like for years here.

I really started enjoying looking at the lovely blue canopy over me, the Sound and the mountains.

A pure blue with no criss-cross lines, no lines thickening to a grey layer.

Some days, clouds wold move thru, clouds that billowed and towered, just like they did when I was a kid.

Well, today, working in the yard, I saw a plane with a lingering “contrail”.

Thru the afternoon, some cross-hatching lines appeared and lingered .

They did not spread…much.

Hope this is not a re-start of the “program”, but only time and God will tell.

Think we will be able to get Silver Eagles for less than $400 a roll (delivered) again?

That was a gift you got for your parents being activists for humanity. I don’t blame you for being uncomfortable about the man telling the story of slitting someone’s throat and probably shouldn’t of told it in front of children. Hungary seems to have learned a lesson I hope but Germany not so much. It was only after Trump was elected and the Obama rehtoric was over did they start doing something. Imagine a German family hosting their immigrants ” seperate from real Syrian Refugees IMO ” and hearing stories of slitting throats of Infidels. I guess I could compare that to hosting the enemy instead.

In the 1950’s my hometown tripled in size , and my parent’s home had extra bedrooms , so Canadian immigration asked if we could take in some immigrants who had fled the iron curtain . The first was a young East German who escaped by swimming to freedom across a river close to his native city of Eisenach … in late fall , at night , wearing all the clothes he could swim in . He was spotted , spotlighted , and escaped a hail of bullets by swimming underwater in a zigzag course , coming up for air when the water was dark above him , not lit up by the moving spotlights . He reached the other side and ended up migrating to Canada a few months later . He was about 8 years my senior and became like a big brother , teaching me how to shoot , and even letting me drive the truck he bought a couple of years later , when I was about 12 .

In late 1956 , we took in about a half dozen Hungarians , who also boarded with us . They had some interesting stories of their escapes to tell around our dinner table , I can assure you . One , who frankly gave me weird vibes , had slit the throat of a Russian soldier to make his escape (and could smile when he retold the story – it was obvious that he enjoyed reliving the experience) . All were extremely grateful to have come to a land of freedom and opportunity . I heard that old Joe (the killer) later bought a failed FINA gas station a few blocks away and turned it into a successful auto repair shop .

He waists too much time diverting from the issue to himself. Can he ever shut up so we can listen to the experts.
I like him but needs to shut up and stop diverting or people are gonna suspect he’s covering for the system.

No doubt prices will show up in earnings but I kind of think the stocks should be anticipating the earnings.

Then again we have the scum trying to keep enthusiasm at bay and a down stock market.
