On the topic of the ‘New NAFTA’ , I can respond to some of the issues raised .
Appendix 16-A : To cross the border between USA and Canada legally , it has been necessary for citizens of both nations to present a valid passport whether by land ( automobile ) , water , or air . A passport is proof of citizenship , so nothing new there . A passport is essentially a national ID document .
Appendix 2 – Professionals
I am a degreed engineer , educated in the USA as a Canadian Foreign Student .
After graduation , I was first employed at a Canadian research facility which required an RCMP background check which was done in cooperation with the FBI . I sought a Professional Engineering license in that province , and was granted one after a review , based on my baccalaureate degree . After I retired , I gave up that license , because the individual heading up the Licensing association was a professor of engineering , and coerced the board into requiring mandatory college ‘upgrade’ courses for all engineers to renew annual membership to maintain the license , and the cost of annual license renewal became prohibitive for me , as a retiree without offsetting income .
Talk about a conflict of interest ! An educator mandating retraining by ivory tower eggheads with little or no actual engineering field experience . That was Globalism in action even a quarter century ago . I am sure the mandated courses where heavy on what we now call Agenda 21 and 2030 issues .
