Not many miners with just US operations.

I guess there’s some smaller ones.

The Tide Seems to Have Turned in our Favor (Favour-spelling impaired )…. :-)

Before Trump was inaugurated , I told a friend…

Posted by Alex Valdor @ 12:18 on October 11, 2018

that the Fed is controlled by a group of globalists and would crash any Trump rally in the markets by raising rates . However , I expected that it would hold off the worst until 2020 , not the mid-terms .

My opinion a global slowdown is unfolding, including in the USA. The US economy news has been too good to be true.

Assuming a new big leg up with Gold and Silver, it might be a good idea to focus on USA miners. A weaker dollar is also good for domestic producers of anything.

Maybe It’s Finally The Gold Bugs Turn.

Chile’s Supreme Court signals death knell of Kinross gold mine

Posted by ipso facto @ 10:54 on October 11, 2018

Chile’s Supreme Court upheld an environmental order for a gold mine owned by Canada’s Kinross Gold Corp to close its water pumping wells, the environmental regulator said on Wednesday, bringing down the curtain on a long-running dispute that sparked the miners’ retreat from Chile.

The environmental watchdog, known locally as the SMA, initially ordered that the wells serving the Maricunga mine be shut down in 2016. The ruling was challenged by Kinross in Chile’s environmental tribunal and then in the country’s highest court.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday backed the original order, pointing to the “inadequate management of unforeseen environmental impacts on the Pantanillo-Ciénaga Redonda basin”, which is located in Chile’s northern Atacama desert.

Plunge Protection Magic Show

Please note that the relative calm of U.S. and Euro stock mkts. “allow” for some kind of gold rally

Posted by Richard640 @ 9:31 on October 11, 2018

of unknown size and time–there could be some deep shake outs today, hopefully, as the Chief says “to accumulate inventory”…the other possibility is that at some point a brick wall is thrown up and the rally snuffed…given the current set-up/zeitgeist–especially with the $ down…and a lot of dialogue, on the Biz channels, about DEBT-[it suddenly matters!?]…there may be ground for a substantial rally…bonds, the $, and BitCoin were not safe haven destinations yesterday…whereas gold is the cheapest “safe haven” on the menu…I believe the Chief, years ago, said that gold could rally with stocks and the dollar…

Maybe this is a deliberate sell off

Thank you for the prayers, Maya…heavy rain without wind, so no threat of a power failure.  I was luckier this time from when Hurricane Opal cut a swath through the area and took down 18 of the trees on my newly purchased property, which delayed my move.  All okay here, hope the same with the goldbugs in the hurricane’s path.

The link between Silver and Beans was a little different. They were not in the same pit, they were nearby each other and traders could trade in either.

During the great 70’s bull run in Beans, the locals were making out like bandits and were awash in cash, so whenever Beans got locked in limit up, because the Locals had nothing else to do for the rest of the day, they walked over to the silver pit and traded silver. The trend was already bullish and after trading Beans, not even silver scared them. they’d ram it higher….. for fun….After a while people noticed that if beans were bid, it wasn’t long before Silver was as well…..Hence the link.

“Major Event” Looms As Italy’s Lega Popularity Rises With Each EU Confrontation

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-10-10/major-event-looms-italys-lega-popularity-rises-each-eu-confrontation

I don’t agree with his conclusions…but the substance is true.

The difference this time is the Italian people have had enough of having the piss taken over the EU/Euro and having the EU ride roughshod over them. They now have a government that is more than standing up to the EU, it is treating the EU with contempt…the Italians are getting their pride back. The worse the mkts get, the more angry the Italians will get.Eventually they will walk and tell the EU to rotate.

Storm Porn

Posted by Maya @ 3:50 on October 11, 2018

Watched a lot of the hurricane coverage on the Weather Channel today.  That was an awesome intensity pop, and I’m sure a lot of damage.  Unlike Hawaii’s mountains that bounce hurricanes around like pinballs, the Gulf coast is a lot of flatland with little to stop the storm winds rolling thru like a bulldozer.  Sounds like Treefrog is weathering the storm.  Our prayers go out for Moggy’s well being up in Georgia also.

U-TUBE it first !
