Loading ...Many decades ago I went mountain climbing/hiking with a friend from the radio staton. He was a very creative writer of commercials, and happened to be of Japanese ancestry. We hiked up a 2500 ft mountain range in a rainforest that day and got thoroughly soaked, head to toe. Our lower halves were mostly mud. When we descended, tired and bedraggled, and emerged from the forest where the car was parked, I turned back to watch my friend emerge from the woods. Tired, sore, and muddy, the first words out of his mouth were, “So you say the war has been over for 40 years?” I laughed so hard I had to sit down in the mud! He was the perfect picture of a Japanese soldier emerging from the jungle after 40 years.
Yeah, us goldbugs are like a Timex watch (remember those?) Takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Just look at Farmboy! 🙂
