BREAKING: Iran’s IRGC announces it struck and stopped 2 oil tankers, with 4 others turning back, in the Strait of Hormuz this morning after they attempted to navigate the unauthorized southern route under deceiving US military air escort while ignoring warnings, per Tasnim.
IRGC adds it informed all shipping and insurance companies to completely ignore CENTCOM’s announcements and inquire only with those who have been deceived and experienced incidents.
IRGC released footage of the burning tankers.

Wow that is some electric rate increase! No wonder people are pissed off. We are going to be paying for our surveillance so the gov can keep us in line.
I’m sure that many of the data centers are not so noisy but what a drag to live near one of the noisier ones! That would drive me crazy.

Not a good feeling
The PM mkt is back to the bad old days, before the Bull run, where every break gets smashed back, inside the break out and then has relentless selling, which slides prices down non stop. never very aggressively…such that when you check prices, they are always down……Only a CB has that kind of non stop selling.

And they are building 80 more. My electric bill went from 3 cents a kilowatt to 11 cents a kilowatt in less than 3 years. Home prices increased 70% in that same time period.
What does a data center actually sound like?
A hyperscale data center produces several distinct noise sources, all running 24 hours a day, 365 days a year:
Cooling towers and HVAC stacks — the largest continuous source. Typical property-line measurements range from 45 to 65 decibels (dBA) at the residential boundary, with the dominant frequency in the 100–500 Hz band. This is the “hum” residents describe.
Substation transformers — the 60-Hz hum of high-voltage equipment, typically 50–65 dBA at 50 feet from the transformer.
Diesel backup generators — not used continuously, but tested monthly. A typical 2-megawatt diesel generator produces 90–105 dBA at 25 feet during a load test, which is comparable to a chainsaw.
Construction noise — intermittent during the 2–5 year build phase, including pile-driving, concrete pours, and crane operations.

I’m glad there’s no data centers around me. An effed up thing if one is your neighbor! I will say our power co. is planning on hiking electric rates by 17% next year. I’d bet those data centers are part of the culprit.

The question I have is when did they build these data centers? I feel like I took a nap and all of a sudden we have these things around the country and more on the way.
There’s nothing good that will come from this. The elites are speeding things up pretty rapidly. Maybe to get the Agenda 2030 and the Noahide laws in place. Almost seems as if they know something’s coming. Whatever it is, it won’t be to the benefit of us plebes. So sorry for my kids and grandchildren.

Seems to me with the magnitude of the dollar drop, they owe us more gains in the metals than we’ve gotten in the two days it’s been down. Gold up 1% with palladium up 5% and platinum 3% doesn’t quite compute.

Is It True is this true? Data centers make noise?
Yes. The basic claim is true, and there is a very recent case that sounds almost exactly like what you saw.

Data centers can produce a continuous hum/drone, mainly from enormous cooling fans, chillers, cooling towers and other equipment.

78 dB at a residence would be extremely loud for a constant 24/7 noise. However, I would be skeptical that 78 dB was actually measured at the homeowners’ houses without seeing the original report.

In Dowagiac, Michigan, residents are currently suing a data-center operator over constant noise. The city has fined the company for violating its noise ordinance, and the company has offered to buy affected homes.

So the “company offered to buy their houses” part is definitely real in at least this case.
The interesting part is that constant noise can be more aggravating than a louder noise that comes and goes. Virginia’s legislative review specifically found that residents often object to the data centers’ continuous drone or hum even when measured levels aren’t exceptionally high.
If you want, I can find the exact video/story you’re referring to and check whether the 78-decibel figure is accurate.

🦔Turn your sound on for this one. This is what it sounds like to live next to an AI data center, 24 hours a day. In Dowagiac, Michigan, residents sued after a facility run by Hyperscale Data ran around the clock at 78 decibels outside their homes. The company offered to buy their houses rather than fix the noise. One family has lived on that street for nearly a century.
My Take
This isn’t one town with one bad facility. Microsoft faces a class-action in Wisconsin over data center noise residents can hear a mile and a half from the property line. In Virginia, one-third of data centers sit within 200 feet of homes. Noise from thousands of servers can hit 96 decibels, and diesel backup generators reach 105, which is a jet overhead. Residents report headaches, nausea, and sleep problems. Property values near this kind of infrastructure drop up to 20%. The company response in Michigan was to offer to buy the homes rather than quiet the facility, homes that families spent decades in, priced against a corporate buyout.
Water in Oregon, wells in Georgia, ratepayer costs in Louisiana, river water in California, and now noise in Michigan and Wisconsin. None of this was in the brochure when these projects got approved. Closed-loop cooling and proper sound barriers exist and would solve most of this, but they cost more, so the companies skip them and the neighbors lose sleep and equity instead.

Can’t agree more! Are data centers going to help the average person? Not likely they just use up scarce water and energy and cost the people money in increased bills. I saw another clip today about a data center they built in a suburban neighborhood. It puts out a constant hum at (I think it said) 78 decibels. People in that neighborhood are going crazy about it and when they complained the company offered to buy their houses, but some people’s families have been there near a 100 years.

It looks like the Japanese are surreptitiously devalueing the Yen….but every now and again they have tap it back up, but the trade gets crowded, so loads of stops go, hence the sudden crashes….TA says it could fall miles…..as it has a monster Saucer base.
