Glad I didn’t grow up now. Lots of pitfalls and economic uncertainty out there. With all the huge gov debt it appears that the older generation (politicians) have squandered the future and cheated the younger people.

That’s a depressing look at Eugene! It is a university town so maybe that explains some of it. Seems like a lot of young people have piercings and tattoos around here as well. “Dirty” I don’t know. I don’t think it’s an attractive fashion but the ones I really dislike are the studs in the tongue and through the cheeks or the ring in the nose Yechh!
Having said that, my back neighbor, a young guy has plugs in his ear lobes and he is a good person. It comes down to individuals.

Silverngold – seems that is tribulation stuff. Hopefully we won’t be here to see it.
Ipso – I’m on a flight back from Eugene, OR now. I was struck by how downtrodden it and its people were. Very sad to me. Besides homelessness, regular people just seemed dirty or poorly dressed. Young women in particular were were overweight, had tattoos, blue or purple hair, nose rings, etc. Not feminine or attractive. Not all of course but most. They have never been taught that true power comes from their femininity. The guys weren’t much better, same issues, but a lot had taken up the weak, feminine look from the women. I think some of it is financial, people are really struggling. Almost like they’ve been overwhelmed and have no idea what happened. Very sad stuff.

Neither do I. I guess profit taking makes sense but the shares have really underperformed. I don’t know, seems we should be seeing big up days, simply based on potential earnings. NEM was $80 in 2011.
