Re Brit police……they are mostly so fat and unfit, they could never get out long enough to catch a real crim…they can only chase down crims on their keyboards !!!!!

Is something that happens in the virtual world worthy of being investigated by real police?

I met one once playing pool with some friends he was close to where I was and started talking to me and the subject came up and he took his job seriously as far as safety. I don’t think those 3 pilots were breaking rules for safety but showing off and having fun. On the other end of that I or not just I lost my child doctor because of poor traffic controllers in the Canary Islands where he and his wife were on vacation in the 70s. You didn’t have doctors like that anymore that I knew of. He let people usually fathers do work for him for medical care for their kids if the didn’t have insurance as a option. Not that he couldn’t afford to hire people but helped them out with barter instead of cash. His wife also perished with him. As luck goes his son was supposed to go but broke his leg so stayed behind. Also knew though a friend later her husband lost his mom on that same flight.

A few years back I saw something on TV about equity by giving undertrained inexperienced minority’s as commercial air traffic controllers. That was real comforting to know.

As far as that trainer he got what he deserved. How did he know that stick wasn’t going to wind up through a windshield of a car somewhere or hit someone or if something went wrong and he would of needed it. I could see his purpose to make him feel he’s doing it alone and will get no help but was a reckless way to do it. He just realized he was dealing with his own who got one up in him.

I’m guessing it would have been something on the order of…  “Damn Kids these Days!”

Jay was a teenager at the time.  🙂

Air traffic ‘controllers’ only THINK they are in control.  Only the PILOT is in control of his aircraft, and the last rule in the book says the pilot may break any other rule if required for the safe operation of his aircraft.  “Air Traffic Directors” would be a better descriptive term.

From inside Mexico

How their Presidente is orchestrating this mass immigration but not for Mexicans  for money that is destroying Mexico along with the US. They’re doing the same thing as the demos and destroying their country and wanting immigrants votes to stay in power. I would have no doubt that the current Biden administration is working along with them. Makes me wonder and hope not that they are going to create some kind of trouble or chaos around election day.

Politicians on the other hand think they can just stay there till the end of their life so they figure what ever happens won’t affect them.

Also you can ask where all the people were when all these taxes was going on and why they didn’t get off the sofa. If they even knew about them or which politicians were involved or they got out there and voted against them.

In California most who speak English and even half way watch what they’re doing, can’t wait to see Newsom gone.

Now besides taxes and climate change racketeering affecting housing he’s giving free medical to immigrants while citizens pay a arm and leg causing them to drop insurance domino effect. It caused closures to hospitals and more than that. Orange Co Calif a wealthy county went bankrupt. That’s what happened the last time they had surges of immigrants It also swamped hospitals, affordable dentist groups, schools and more plus crime and hit and runs by mostly immigrants many drunk which also caused stricter drunk driving laws. Also locks on gas caps and hoods of cars. Not to mention waves of cockroaches infesting buildings that were hard to get rid of and health care cost rising constantly following housing.

Health Care in some hospitals is still bad. My son in law is okay where he’s at but another person I know his wife is having a heck of a time getting vital care and humane care like pain. Left days with just say a medical head injury which I have same once when younger different reason you couldn’t lift your head and even caused partial scattered memory loss prior years from it. They left him that way for days till his angle wife got it addressed and more.  A lot of things that could leave you on the edge of your seat as why they aren’t checking this and that and addressing it.

The more people not even supposed to be here  pile in the harder it will be to expect better care.

It’s not just quality of care anymore it’s quality of life they’re out to destroy.

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he’s fed.
Tax his work,
Tax his pay,
He works for peanuts
Anyway!
Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.
Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.
Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass.
Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won’t be done
Till he has no dough.
When he screams and says no more
Then tax him till he’s good and sore.
Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in

So there’s a chance as long as you have training and updraft air speed and not in a spin just 100 feet above ground which even parachuting wouldn’t help.

Maya that was a funny story. At the same time the nerve of that trainer not telling him he should bail out too. He might have. I wonder what his last words were before he jumped

I had a great uncle who was a combat pilot in WW11 USA left aa a General  but I didn’t know it till the last time I visited back home in Wisconsin or that another Uncle was in both wars. They knew it was likely the last time we seen each other so my Aunts in front of them told me. All that pilot advice I missed. There were targets back home during that time and they did t want any more was one and one person who was in. The 101s army airborne told me that had to do things that they don’t want to talk about. That for instance he didn’t tell his daughter he was in the service either. I asked him why. He said that he didn’t want his daughter seeing him as a killer. I told him she may find out anyways, that he doesn’t have to tell her those things. If it’s him or them she’s rather have him. I don’t think he ever did.

My Uncle was a pilot in the Fleet Air Arm on Ark Royal, in WW II …flying Swordfish, small BiPlanes…they were visiting Gibraltar once and had heard the Control Tower was very strict….so decided to wind the Tower up…. as they approached they asked if they should do a standard landing , to which the tower said Yes……then they came in 3 abreast…the Tower went ape……screaming and yelling at them…..afterwards they said they did this all the time on the ship !!!!!!

Best Flying Story

Posted by Maya @ 23:32 on December 31, 2023

When I learned, the training to recover from a stall/spin was not required anymore, due to the fact they lost too many pilots trying it.  But my instructor insisted and took me way up to 10k ft and showed how you could get into a stall spin while crabbing a turn for a landing.  When the inside wing ‘broke’ it nearly snapped my neck.  When I pulled my head out of the back seat, all I saw was a tree turning in the windshield.  I immediately applied the control inputs as my instructor told me what I already knew… “Now you’re in a spin”.  I called out the inputs to him and asked… “How long does this take?” as we spiraled down.   “Just hold the inputs!” he yelled.    Three and a half turns later the rotaton stops and I started to pull back out of a straight dive.   We lost over 900 feet before recovery.  Instructor says:  If you had done that 100 feet above ground on approach, you would wind up 800 feet underground!

But the BEST story comes from an old coworker from the 1930s on his dad’s farm.  Dad bought a biplane, and insisted son Jay learn how to fly it also, which he did with father’s instruction.  Dad was a stickler for safety, and wearing a parachute was mandatory.  The old two-cockpit biplane control was a wooden stick fastened to a cast metal socket on the floor with cables attached.  Dad made sure that there was a spare wooden ‘stick’ jammed into the frame, accessible to both cockpits.  So one day a ‘barnstormer’ comes thru and Dad hires him for some professional flying lessons.  Jay had heard this guy would teach you how to fly and when ready to ‘solo’ he would throw his front stick out of the plane and force the student in the rear cockpit to bring the plane in for a landing.  Jay had a warped mind, and was ready for him.   When the instructor was finally ready, he turned around to Jay, waved and pointed at Jay, and pulled the stick up out of the floor.  As Jay watched, the instructor threw the stick overboard.   Jay nodded affirmative and ‘thumbs up’ to the instructor, and while the instructor watched, Jay pulled the SPARE stick out of the fuselage, waved it above his head for the instructor to see, and TOSSED THE STICK OVERBOARD!!  The instructor looked in shock, climbed out of the cockpit and bailed out on his parachute!    Jay laughed his butt off, brought the plane around and landed OK back at the farm.

Instructor was pissed, and left shortly.  Jay and Dad had a great laugh, and so did I fifty years later when he told that story.

Goldilocks, your 20:21

Posted by Bob @ 21:47 on December 31, 2023

If it stalls and just noses over (usually one wing will drop) and you regain some airspeed, you’re lucky. If it goes into a spiral dive you’re dead unless you have a lot of above ground elevation. When I obtained my license they taught recovery from a spiral dive, not a very pleasant experience. I was informed then that US training did not include this type of recovery training.
