Ipso- yes, I see that it was aurum. AG at last count was sitting on about 700K oz. So they’ve played that well. With the smelting and coin making ability they’ll take advantage of the premiums. They look smart at the moment. Time will tell.

Shares are sketchy to start, makes me wonder about the strength in the metals holding up.

The NEM earnings were a little strange. One of the mines under produced, but overall they increased production? Did I read that right?

If they over produced, why weren’t they able to beat estimates? Regardless, probably games by the analysts to undermine the sector. Either that or to pick up shares cheaper as they build their positions.

Probably the weekly jobless claims beat as they do every week now, giving the dollar a little life. Rates were down over 3 bips, now down only 1. 10 yr. back to 4.21%.

Crimex doing a good job of keeping silver at bay, gold to a lesser extent. Aladdin in there helping to bounce the GLD and SLV bids all over the map. The scum is being very attentive this am.

Shares seem tentative. Probably rocked by the horror of NEM’s earnings. I’m having a hard time finding the avg. sale price of an oz. of gold for NEM. Would like to know that. AISC went up to $1611 from $1429 last year, pretty big jump.

I’ve never understood it. Why does everything have to trade in dollars? India wants to buy oil from Russia, why doesn’t India just pay in Rupees; or gold? Or Yuan, or Yen, Lek, glass beads, Yap stones or whatever Russia wants? Why has it taken sanctions against Russia to force normal trading to occur, I don’t know. When we went on holiday to Europe, Dad didn’t insist that the Belgians, Luxembourgeouis, Germans, Austrians, Swiss, Italians, French and Spanish all accept pounds. No, he bought Belgian Francs, Luxembourg francs, Marks and Pfennigs, Schillings etc. etc. It wasn’t difficult, even in the sixties.

Yes, just looked at Palladium now up 8.6%. Amazing. Would like to see moves like that in the gold and silver markets as well.

Correct me if I’m wrong but Palladium is down all the way from $3K at one point? Wonder if it makes sense to pick up a few oz. of that as well?

Will be interesting to see what comes out of the BRICS today when the conference ends. I guess they could throw palladium in there as part of the basket. I understood from earlier articles that gold would be a 60% anchor. They could throw silver, palladium and platinum in there as part of a basket. I’d think whatever else is in the basket has to be a hard asset. I don’t really see how oil or grains could be involved, I don’t know.

I also don’t see how western fiat survives once the BRICS currency is implemented, especially with so many western allies looking to participate. India and Saudi Arabia will no longer have a need for dollars. This has always been the risk of shifting our manufacturing east. We have to produce things here in the US to survive and should anyway because we are resource rich. This is a death knell for the elites and their unbacked Ponzi currencies, whether paper or CBDC. I’m afraid that they are so demonic, that they will start lobbing nukes as a final resort to protect their hegemony.

Regardless, it’s nice to see our metals snap back this am. The fresh Crimex shorts will be in trouble right out of the gates this am. I believe the shares, with the exception of NEM, will probably soar even more than they lost yesterday.

Just off the highs of the overnights now, but gold has regained almost 2/3rd’s of yesterday’s losses, and silver almost half.

The dollar is backing off a bit and the 10 yr. is down just over 3 bips. About time for at least a small break for those two.

Long way until the Crimex open, but we could be looking at the shortest pm correction in history.
