Head scratching Monday am
We’ve got some strength coming in this am, I have no idea why really because the dollar is flat, as are rates. Bitcoin was up above $101K, but now tanking a bit back to $98K, all crypto is pulling back. SM is flat with a downward bias.
What’s interesting is that metals across the board, including base metals are all higher. Copper up 1.5%, Platinum up 2.6%, Palladium screaming – up 3.6%. Zinc, Nickel, Lead, all up. Gold is the laggard up .87%, Silver up 1.7% though.
Oil up over 1% too.
The reason I looked at base metals is that RIO and BHP are both bid 5% higher this am. They’ve done nothing all year like pm shares. PM shares are being bid up this am as well. Even the ugly sisters NEM and GFI are up 2% and 5% respectively.
There’s still a long time before the Crimex and the SM open, so everything could change, but at least for the moment we have some strength.
