is going up $20.00 a month but my SS “benefit” is going up $5.00  not a lot by comparison to most ,but how is the SS cost of living Raise calculated ? if they leave out the cost of medical insurence ?

From the combined two SS checks for me & My WIfe   40 % goes for Healthcare !

The faster I work..The behinder I get ! and now some of the DOCs say I cant see them but once a year according to medicare rules .Two of them have told me I cant have an appointment yet because it hasent been a year since my last visit !   It looks they are Rationing CARE !

A huge bunch of newly insured hypochondriacs and worry warts. Now that they have coverage, they can have each and every little itch, ache, pain and worry looked at.

Plus, the doctors have huge overhead, and to help pay bills, they love to “treat” things that don’t really need to be treated.

I suspect the next big corruption discoveries are going to be in the medical sector.

I worry about them giving her immunity because then it’s quite possible anything she has on Killary will be immune maybe including that computer. She should not get immunity and if she does limited and doesn’t include evidence against Hillary or anybody else they find on the computer.

Note medicare thanks to Obama went up too. I don’t know if you can get a waver for it but other wise they’ll automatically deduct it from your SS. If working you have to pay quarterly in advance.Try to sign up early so you get no financial penalities. You can sign up 3 months in advance. Then you might need supplemental. Since you live on the Island you don’t have a lot of hospitals to chose from so that’s good if there good. The cheapest supplementals are HMOs and must stay in network. Some have wavers depending on income but pay attention to choices say if you get a stroke Cancer and medicine coverage. The average Meds shouldn’t cost too much out of pocket. But if you get in trouble and need the more serious medications or clinical trials you will be paying most out of pocket with hopefully a cap but that cap could be high. Best to research ahead of time.

Sorry what’s happening out there. Essentials take out a lot out of your budget. When I returned in 1978 had just an unemployment check.  Needed to go down on the Kam Highway and donate blood to supplement what I had coming in.

I’m livid! My health insurance provider has sent me notice that the current ‘obamacare’ plan I’m on is going up HUGE. Now understand that Hawaii Medical Insurance Assn. provides the majority of health insurance in Hawaii, and has decades of experience with costs and health needs across a broad section of the populace here, because employer-provided plans have been the law here for a long time. Every full-time employee is required to be provided health insurance. So the only reason for the base plan premium to go up 40% is the added overhead that the Obamacare requires for them to comply. On average, their healthcare costs at HMSA cannot have not gone up that much, nor have they acquired a huge bunch of newly insured sick people.

With my ‘low income’ tax credits remaining about the same, my out-of-pocket payments are due to DOUBLE. I will be paying as much as I was a year ago when I was still working and earning three times what I get now. I am forcibly retired early and on Social Security. My health premiums will be 25% of my income! Thank God I don’t have rent or mortgage payments, but it will still be a struggle to eat and maintain the wholly-owned house. I’m 64 and only need to put up with this for one year before going on Medicare, thankfully.

People, If you are voting for TRUMP to take care of this, you need to do something more. FIRE YOUR CONGRESSMAN!! If your congress-critter has had two terms, he’s already on the ‘Gravy Train’ and looking out for his own interests, not yours. If you want to help TRUMP to make America great again, send some NEW BLOOD to congress that is willing to work with a new president to repeal this obamanation (sic) of a health-tax. Remember… the courts have ruled that it is a TAX on us. Are we being represented??  FIRE your congressman!

That’s good though. So many of us grew up with relatives that spoke more than one language. Some passed it down or some of it. The difference was that English was the first language and became the adopted language their children and grand children learned. Personally I think it’s a shame we didn’t or most of us learn other languages fluently unless we continued it on our own. All the nationalities agreed on English. Now we have these people coming in thinking we should learn there’s. All of a sudden these late commere think they should be first. They must think we’re all just one nationality theyre dealing with.

re No Parla, me too. I forgot most of it. Lived with my grand parents until age 7-8 told me I was speaking Italian before I spoke English. Another widely held wrong opinion was “The inflationary ’70s”. The inflation (increase money supply) was 1934 to 1971. After ’71 to ’81 was actually REMOVAL of money supply with high interest rates, that led money into CDs and banks, where it can’t get spent. And curbed borrowing to spend. Add cheap imports, to get CPI prices and labor costs lower.

Anybody that does not like Trump, I have to assume are not patriotic or nationalist, very happy all there lives and saw nothing wrong with what happened to the USA. No complaints about the media propaganda etc. Happy with the US gov’t and foreign policy etc. Happy with immigrants, enjoy imports, happy with political correctness etc.

Prices did go up in the 1970s, because of 1934 to 1971 increase in money supply, but after ’71, money was REMOVED. There is always a time lag. After ’81 commodity prices FELL for 20 YEARS and a strong dollar policy. That shut down our industries.

Many widely held opinions are generally wrong. Actually what ended the great depression, was the banning of gold ownership or possession of gold in 1934. For domestic US citizens only. Rare coins jewelers or dentists etc were exempt.

After that day (1934) gold could trade country to country bank to bank for trade adjustments. (until 1971) Any US dollars spent overseas were returned to USA, and exchanged for gold (stolen) at $35, when it was worth $140/oz black market privately. We lost half our gold reserves between ’34 and ’71 after protests.

In 1934 they confiscated all the peoples gold at $20/oz, then re-priced it at $35/oz. Basically it was a 70% devaluation of the US dollar so as to inverse prices mathematically higher, because of the deflation. Producers closing up.

Once the bankers confiscated all the gold, they were able to increase the paper money supply so as to finance the military war machine for the coming war in 1941. So, it was NOT the WAR that reversed the depression, it was actually the SECOND round of printing paper money after ’34. Without excess phony money there can’t be any wars.

The FIRST round of printing started after 1913. Federal Reserve act of 1913, was created so America could finance wars. Note, 1913 led to WWI in 1917. The excess money supply created to finance WWI flowed into stock market, farming, production excess etc gt over extended leading to the ’29 crash.

Which led to 1934. Wash rinse repeat.
