almost appears as if the inflation trade is back in vogue.

Probably what’s dragging silver stubbornly higher this am. The SM too.

Trump plays these markets like a fiddle. Supposedly this SM rally is on because he said he had “no intention of firing Powell” yesterday.

Rates down over 7 bips this am in the most important market in the world.

edit: Gold is now $45 off the lows in the overnight market of $3291. If it recovers and continues higher, I’m not sure I’ll be able to believe it.

There is just no way they are going to allow silver to pop $33, the world must implode if silver is allowed to trade freely. Craziness.

Looks like we have a reversal of everything we’ve had for the last couple months.

SM futures soaring. Oil up a buck to $64.70. Dollar up. Bitcoin flat after being up $10K since the weekend. Rates backing off 4 bips.

Gold down 2%, but silver up 1%. Problematic for the pm shares though as we saw yesterday.

So far, the correction in gold is orderly, and we could easily correct down another $200. Silver, OTOH is not correcting with gold, nor should it because it’s not close to overbought.

Unfortunately, as we saw yesterday, silver being firm with a rising SM isn’t enough to carry pm shares and they are weaker in the premarket.

Earnings start coming in today with NEM leading the charge. Interesting to note that Blackrock has bought a big chunk of NEM shares as deer79 mentioned yesterday. Then they were upgraded yesterday by Canaccord Genuity and price target moved from $56 to $75. Earnings estimate is $.90. Seems low for a company that earned $1.40 last quarter with gold up substantially since then. If they can’t beat that estimate, they’ve got problems. It probably won’t matter though if gold continues to correct, the shares will get hit.

In terms of the shares, this is nothing like 2001-2.

PMI’s are out at 0945 am EST, expectations have also been lowered.

Re Car spares….A guy I know who owns a garage that does huge business in Jaguar restoration, reckons it is deliberate, to drive us off the roads/push us twds EV’s….in order to save the planet…..same trick with computer diagnostics…except loads of ‘copies’ of the software are out their.

The car companies went along with it, thinking we would all buy new EV’s off them…..Instead we are going Cuba and running old cars….until we vote in none Gobalists.

What impressed me was the sterility precautions in the OR.  The nurse that wheeled me from prep had to announce on her radio (everyone was wired!) she was going to OR5.  When we arrived, before opening the doors, she again had to announce that she was Entering OR5 before going in.  They pushed me next to the operating gurney and quickly slid my body and paper gown sideways onto the new table, and the transport nurse and gurney quickly left the room.  I heard her announce her exit on the OR comms.  On the ceiling vents, there were stainless boxes of apparent air sterilizers.  And EVERYONE in the room was in a full-body inflated balloon suit, dragging a vent hose pipe.  Complete environment isolation of the bodies working in the room.  I felt like a dirtball in a hazmat laboratory.  But it works!  No sign of infection so far.  Praying for no clots.  I’m on Baby Aspirin morning and night.

Right, you can’t even by single things in some cases I heard. One person told me he went to buy a light for the front of his car and they told him he had to buy a whole unit of 300 and something dollars and that was years ago.

That’s not good. I remember prior to the crash of 08 all of a sudden people couldn’t sell their house. They refinanced into risky loans that aren’t fixed and promised by these clueless they could refi out of it later. They were fixing it up to sell When they found out they couldn’t it was too late and tried to sell. Plus the refi drive taxes up because here with prop 13 they can’t just automatically raise taxes they have to have another reason or a refi or sale. My  neighbor had buyers but even though they should of been able to get a loan the banks stopped lending. Prior to that the homes were selling in days. I thought oh no. Of all charts I didn’t check it was real estate. Major top in overbought  range too.  This is it but I don’t think anybody knew how bad it was gonna get but it wasn’t consolidation it was gonna crash.

If they are well off businessmen, why do they need to borrow money for a small truck?

What really bugs me about cars is that you can’t buy a simple one. You can’t get one with a handbrake even, let alone a manual gearbox. All those sensors which, as you say, cost a fortune to fix, and you can’t fix them yourself as you need expensive manufacturer supplied software to diagnose the problem. Can’t even open the tailgate on a 2007 X-Trail unless the battery is in the car, which is the first thing you take out to change the clutch, and want to use the boot space to lay out everything you take off.

I’m thinking the banks are anticipating, and maybe want an economic slowdown, because a car dealer friend, actually sells smaller trucks, told me five customers in a row, were turned down for loans.

They were all well off business owners. Plus they had big down payments. Another person I know with a 780 credit score got notified they would not renew his home equity loan. The USA has been living off way too many fake jobs, or unneeded jobs, that produce nothing, and consume money from others.

The USA forgot after 1972, that manufacturing jobs create wealth, the birth of wealth, all other jobs need the manufacturing or producers to live off of. Unfortunately China got all the wealth producing manufacturing jobs that we used to have before 1972.

For one example, we are stuck with cars that are so complicated, so many unneeded electrical parts, and stupid nine speed transmissions, catalytic converters and fixing them is extremely expensive. So they junk the cars rather pay a lot of money to fix them.

If we get the expectation later if the dollar falling that being out of the dollar, cryptos  could be a good catalyst as people become more aware of currency’s and prices. I don’t know if I’d trust much further than Bitcoin or PMs though less he comes up with something gold backed. Trump like knowing a storm is coming and prepare as best you can trying to get as many jobs back home and fair trade with a risk of recession, crash and stagflation, the harm since Covid to small businesses or worse than 08 on its way.  They say it takes years but he’s also working on getting permits expedited and things moving faster than old school status quo. Then Hunter fears that the Fed is going to fear lowering rates after waiting to long to raise rates calling inflation transitory might have a inverse reaction of waiting too late to lower interest significantly in a in crash time.
