Came across another article that said that China has quietly absorbed $40 Billion in tariffs on some items to keep the flow going. They have no choice until they can replace the US as their biggest customer. They call it “leverage” in the business world.
These pieces of garbage in Congress better pass all of the tax cuts and add some to the list.

Our little Oasis has been quiet lately, and no new visitors. Probably a good marker for the interest of the general public for gold and silver these days. They haven’t even noticed. Not surprising with the performance of tech stocks and crypto, but it just makes me wonder what happens if the music stops.
While browsing my YouTube feed, I came across a video headline that said on May 25th they’ll be blacking us out of the internet and I assume that meant the grid as well. I didn’t watch it, but that would be a pretty interesting event.

A different start
The overnights have been more friendly, although silver has petered out and is well off its highs. GLD and SLV must have made some gains shortly after the close yesterday, as there is a discrepancy between spot and the two ETF’s.
Nonetheless, the dollar is weaker and rates are flat. Oil is down some and back in the $58 range, SM up a little. Bitcoin too.
PM shares firming some early, we’ll see how that goes as the dollar appears to be inching higher as well.
Jobs Report today should be weak because of government layoffs. I’m not sure those numbers are going to even matter to us, the course may be set for the next few days.
Hopefully we’ll bounce a little today before heading back into battle next week before the Fed meeting.

Looking around at volume and there’s certainly no rush to the exits. NEM barely above half avg. volume with an hour left. AEM about 3/4. Even AG isn’t at avg. volume and they just love to mess with that stock.
Looks like a chance to buy a phony run meant to scare.
They always destroy the shares like this. We’ll see how they close them. I’ll bet on the HUI to close above 380 and for us to firm back up tomorrow.

Having a hard time reconciling the dollar and rates lately. Rates reversed higher today but nothing crazy, now the dollar is strong. Course, when we look at all the other garbage fiat, it didn’t make sense that it should fall too much anyway.
Strength in the SM kind of puzzles me too. The jobs report will be bad tomorrow because of government layoffs.
I think they are front running the Fed to be honest. But we’ll find out.
