What you have suggested makes a lot of sense….maybe we will see that outcome forced onto AI, as the sheer costs are already hampering the likes of ChatGTP ….never the less I can see real dangers in the omni AI, especially if the ‘owners’ have mal intent…just look at Faceplant’s or Goggles behavior with their Apps.
Maddog, AI
I was chatting (real chat!) to some robotics/gaming engineers last night, who use AI (ChatGPT, free version, although if they started charging they’d have to pay ‘cos it is now essential) constantly for coding and debugging. And the other week a friend who works for a big travel firm who also finds AI brilliant for writing business and strategy reports. So why the need for such interactive experiences leading to suicides? It emphasises what I said last week about Small Language Models vs LLMs. No model used for coding needs a model with Shakespeare’s sonnets, theories on the use of Stonehenge, CO2 emissions of undersea volcanoes or the best way to kill yourself, or others. Actually, if you’re into robotics or gaming code, you definitely should NOT be using a Model with access to that sort of data – killing people, that is, code written in the style of a Shakespeare sonnet could be a wonderful thing to behold …. Anyway, for coding, SLMs, which use a thousandth of the energy, and no water, would be far more appropriate for a productivity enhancing purpose than LLMs, with a much reduced risk.

re Venezuela….interesting, it sure explains why the USS Ford etc is down there….U don’t send that thing to stop 4 blokes in a speed boat and load of coke on board…..even if they are certain they can sink the Ford, after snorting a few pounds of their cargo !!!!!

I’m getting the sensation that AI has some serious problems and is going to cause a lot more……certainly peoples devotion to their phones, is incredibly strong…add in a sympathetic voice and all sorts of naughtiness can be opened up, especially if there is a malicious mind or two…..Neither ChatGTP and certainly not Google have clean hands.
What’s really going on in Venezuela.

Lol Maybe he never worked that hard to get that hungry. Just joking though, I don’t know.
Humanity, right and responsibility. Say some day when you die you meet God. He ask you,”, remember that time you ran across that person who’s stranded and had no money and was 110 F and you had a bottle of cold water with you?.” That you passed them by and said you’ll pray for them. Then God said that person was me, testing you.. Sometimes seen as passive aggressive I can help you but I won’t I can do it myself but Ill make you do it instead.
One of the reasons people are moving away from the Church is not only hypocrisy but inaction as a Christian. In times of increasing violence and division Christians are being seen as passive, unreliable and weak.

They shudda given him a shovel! 🙂
My grandmother , born in 1867 , and widowed at age 35…
left to raise 5 small children on a farm by herself , was highly intelligent , and used to tell a story about J.D. Rockefeller :
He emerged from his building in NYC to see ditchdiggers in their trench , wolfing down food from their lunchpails at noon .
He turned to a colleague at his side and said ” I would give half of my wealth to be able to eat like that ! ”
You can see the results of a finicky stomach in the photo of him posted earlier today.

Seems likely to me. What’s holding us back … about a zillion paper ounces and more all the time! I’m rootin for Ole Mother Hubbard Time! 🙂
Used to look forward to weekends
Now that I’m retired, I don’t.
Because I have to wait 2 days to see what gold and silver will do next!
Oh, well, I can’t complain. I can, but I shouldn’t

Was it Prescott Bush and his pals who financed both sides during WW2? I seem to have read that someplace. They didn’t care who won.
Saw this today when i logged into Fidelity Brokerage – never seen it before
This says something.
What exactly, I’m not sure, but something doesn’t feel “right” about it.
Lend my shares to PM haters so that they can short them, is my guess.

Ipso – concur
Good strength today and yesterday. The shares hopefully bottom first.
Maybe we’ll get some upside movement next week?

We got five-waves down on the NDX & SPX et al now.
So we get a bounce until Tuesday or so (Thursday max) … then lookout below.
That is what could take the metals down in the c-wave.
$40 on silver is worst case scenario in theory.
Buckle up butter cups … chuckle

Roger that! Looks like he’s been dead for 10 years!
