I decided to see if Cal Worthington held the record for the longest running commercial salesman. There was a contender and Cal would probably win the longest most comical entertaining salesman.

The longest-serving commercial car salesman in California, holding a Guinness World Record for a male car salesperson, was Bernard “Deane” Salter, who worked at Reynolds Buick GMC in West Covina for over 54 years, from 1958 until at least 2012, becoming a local icon known for his dedication. While Cal Worthington was famous for decades of zany commercials, Salter holds the record for longevity in a single dealership, recognized by Guinness for his exceptionally long career in sales.
Key Details about Deane Salter:
  • Record: Longest career as a male car salesperson (54 years, 4 months).
  • Location: Reynolds Buick GMC Isuzu in West Covina, California.
  • Career Start: January 29, 1958.
  • Recognition: Recognized by Guinness World Records in 2012.
  • Legacy: Known as a dealership icon, simply called “Salter,” he was still working at age 85.
Comparison to Cal Worthington:
  • Cal Worthington (died 2013) was famous for his energetic, long-running advertising campaigns across California for over 50 years, featuring animals and wild stunts, but Salter holds the record for continuous service at one dealership.

I don’t think there’s a babyboomer and more before and after who lived in California at anytime doesn’t know who Cal Worthington was. I remember back in the 60s he surprised everyone with a elephant. I’m surprised he didn’t call it his horse Trigger. He was a character.

How many doors has GOD closed in your life?? And how many times did it turn out to be for your own good?? Think about it!

Cap’n, yep, 10th December.

Right as the school holidays begin, anyone 16 and over has to verify that they are, indeed, over fifteen. Somehow. It will be interesting to see how the sudden elimination of FB, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok etc. affects all the pupils just looking to veg out for six weeks. And those, like my 34 y/o son-in-law, whose baby face stops him buying alcohol in person without photo id (and the limit here is 18)!

Nah. Not there.

But then, a Ford dealership wouldn’t have a Merc 300D. EMF proof, doesn’t use electrics to run at all. Also generally regarded as all round bullet proof.

Who was it looking for that special car?????

Better get down to Worthington Ford. I bet they still have some of these “acres and acres” of beauties on the lot…or maybe not!  3 minutes to take your pick!

It only shows they’re up to no good. Like next time they roll out a bioweapon they don’t want people exposing them or  interfering with their killing spree or challenging or  interfering with their propaganda schemes. They wanted to jail people for challenging climate change propaganda.

treefrog @ 9:45….Sure reminds me of the first barn and storage unit I built when we moved off the grid almost 50 years ago.

Posted by silverngold @ 12:22 on December 6, 2025

No chimney though, because the upper story was a hay loft for 5000 square bales, and the ground level was a combination of milking stanchions and calving pens inside the barn, and outside was covered equipment stalls for tractors, balers, and other storage about the same as you have pictured, but galvanized tin roofing. I hand milked 2 to 3 cows twice daily and sold the raw milk to the local community….and seldom had enough….but when we had excess we churned our own butter and drank the buttermilk.

That was the start of a most wonderful life of freedom to build the life I wanted. It was all hard work but it was Silverngold!

… it’s getting out of control … it’s just like COVID … the private companies rolling this crap out have no liability if your data is stolen … that right there is a show stopper …

Not to mention privacy … control state … and everything else that is wrong with this power/money grab.

Screw them

re-roofing.  i see they are putting the traditional galvanized panels up on the barn.  this summer was re-roofing time at treefrog manor.  i chose to replace the galvanized with painted steel.  the new coatings actually last better than galvanized, and they come in colors.

in this case, BRIGHT RED!

Germany who wants to be the most prosperous after what they did to them, the rest of the EU only will see Karma. They keep making one bad decision after another. Speed up the boat forget about the ice bergs and welfare of the passengers. So they make some money on war machines at what expense to the people and rest of the economy with inflation taxes and open borders. Money will move out, get it in untraditional ways and no incentive to make money there. Then not to mention to want to kill people to get it on a war they will lose.

Meanwhile US is apparently worse off than the UK post WW11 when it started to unravel and move to socialism bringing the problems they have now  after  mismanaged capitalism except US now for different economic reasons. As far as the majority of the people both no longer trust the government. We’re just lucky we have Trump for now but still apparently what’s to come isn’t gonna be a picnic.

I watched a video the other day of a popular PM shop. Buying has now moved from coins to kilos.

Trouble is Cap’n, there’re so many endgames running at the moment.

Posted by ferrett @ 20:27 on December 5, 2025

The European military stuff hasn’t really got started yet. Merz is still just talking $$$, not contracts. So much bureaucracy to wade through. Bibi’s trial fumbles on. Probably be big riots if he is acquitted/pardoned; and if he convicted. Where does that leave the ME peace process? The big grind continues in Ukraine. “Hard pounding this, gentlemen; let’s see who will pound the longest”, Arthur Wellesley, subsequently first Duke of Wellington. At Waterloo. Just south of Brussels. The first AI boom. Yes, I think it is the endgame (for the first boom). People are suddenly realising that there isn’t enough money (energy, water, skilled manpower) for the next stage. This could collapse the stock market – another endgame. And, of course, the US debt and deficit. Very much in the endgame phase, especially if the bonds are showing the way.

Some of these will trigger the collapse of another. Unfortunately, I fear that some collapses will only harden the attitude of the warmongers.

Ya I thought of that … but what we got was a slow-motion version spread out over decades not years … as they got very good at it.

Next year will be the last episode before what increasing numbers now call ‘The Endgame’.

A world war is always a good excuse to print a sh*t tonne of worthless currency.

Your right although the difference might be economic as the can is running out of road. Trump is looking after law abiding citizens first over criminals and people who don’t belong here in our country in the first place  that would certainly cause trouble and violence in a economic crisis and standing in front of our citizens in  any food lines, housing resources or any other help planned or will be out commiting crimes, and trying to get the numbers down.

Where in UK and EU they appear to be doing the opposite. Catering to the ones who don’t belong there and don’t have to play by the rules and run amuck and or on the dole and trying to get rid of and endanger the ones that do belong there.

I bet those western states are bombarded by leftist propaganda everyday.

So they want to make up a war to sack the city by taxes because of their waistful spending and bad economic decisions and kill off their young to do it. After the way they treat their fellow citizens what interest do they have in helping them at their expense. They’re be better off letting Putin end their regime and removing them from power and writing a new constitution.  What a legacy.

I’m sure all those migrants they let in will be happy to watch out for the unarmed women and children for them while they’re away. Then when there’s no young left to pay their pensions I’m sure the migrants will take care of them.

They made it clear they are not going to change their ways that benefited them at the expense of everyone else that destroyed the economy or want peace and were making it clear we are not interested in there lunatic plans to involve us.  We did not vote for them. I’m curious where they’re going to get their oil and gas.

The pull is almost always down after the US stock market opens. Any momentum gets kamikazed.

I guess it lends credence to Maddog’s sideways/down C-wave. Probably another week of this with the Fed meeting next week and the thumping they’ll no doubt administer to the sector.

Hopefully after that we’ll get a bleed up into the end of the year and continue into January on up to new highs. Pretty boring for now though.

Cap’n, 11:58, I don’t think it’s repeating.

They’ve got it arse about tip. You’re supposed to have the war before the hyperinflation.

@Captain Hook US Federal Reserve History Is In Reverse

Re Your: “this explains the continued march towards to authoritarianism in all Western countries … including America ”

In my view the global Feds and deep state authoritarianism ended in the USA starting with 9/11/01, and confirmed in the 2008 financial crisis, and Trump getting elected was more confirmation of reversal of the past USA getting brainwashed and screwed by foreign global special influence and killing the US economy.

The authoritarianism is ending in the USA out of necessity. You name it. The EPA and more miles per gallon, men in girls sports etc etc etc. Who cares about Europe? They like wars. Let them play Army and blow themselves up if they want.

They shoved the Fed Res Act of 1913 down our throats so we could finance foreign wars. WW I WW II Korea Vietnam etc etc. Its over for the global deep state and their authoritarianism over the USA.

History is repeating …

Posted by Captain Hook @ 11:58 on December 5, 2025

… WWIII is on the way … this explains the continued march towards to authoritarianism in all Western countries … including America …

… and it explains why the US will likely be drawn into the fun … with a draft on the way … leaving all the military age foreign men at home … replacing our boys (because they will be killed) … and installing the police state(s) … unless we do something about it.

Have a nice day.
