Putin is Russian. Europe has always invaded Russia. It’s called “The Great Game”. There was the opportunity after the curtain came down for stability, but the west couldn’t help themselves, lying through their teeth as usual to bring their military borders right up to Russia. Nobody seems to remember that Russia defeated Germany at Stalingrad. WWII was all but over after that. Europe (the Germans that time, makes a change from the British or the French) was invading Russia again and the west stood by, refusing to open a second front until Germany was defeated and Russia severely weakened. So Ukraine is all about Stalingrad. Putin isn’t going to let NATO have such a large border. Or nukes so close. If Russia can’t have missiles on Cuba, the west can’t have them in Ukraine.
