I just find this interesting. The problem with the Geiger counter is is they can give a false reading if they go to zero when above what they can read. Like you said checking your house for normal readings if it suddenly went up because the one I ordered can read higher than one retrogen? or went to zero there’s trouble but you don’t know how much trouble. What .learning tonight is the dosimeter can read by the day and can read the total exposure. I can see it useful for things. I don’t know if I had the technical knowledge to set the Geiger counter to do that but might want to see if yours can. I’m avoiding any high tech electrical stuff anyways cuz in a EMP thst will be fried and useless. That’s why I was looking at the survey meter because if you were to go outside with your dosimeter I would want to know before it read some lethal number not to go thrre. That is if I wanted to make a basic set and to pass along before everything is electronic and requires electricity to run that will wind up useless. I know they have my friend one that can stay outside. They have all sorts of gadgets. I just started learning though and going blind now. reading into the light. I learned the dosimeters can be used in hospitals like x-ray techs and other fields including military. That they can only get so much exposure and have to stop working in that job and why they have them. But apparently some how you can set the Geiger counter to track it too. Enough for tonight I’m going blind lol
