Russia has discovered the biggest oil field in history in the Antarctic Weddell Sea, a field is estimated to hold 511 billion barrels, double Saudi Arabia’s reserves & more than 10 times North Sea output for 50 years. It’s a game changer for global energy.

In 1956 , refugees from Hungary were flooding into Canada . My parents took in six . Some took meals at our table ( paid by the government until they found work , I believe ) . I remember one , older than most , who took pleasure telling us one evening at dinner , that he had slit the throat of a Russian soldier border guard from behind , to escape . I found it ghoulish that the memory made him happy .

Not just pm’s but everything at the moment. Not terrible for the SM and pm’s yet, but crypto in particular is getting pounded.
Oil hanging out around $64
Dollar up a little, rates up near 2 bips but still down on the week. We’ll see how they look after the PCE’s come out in a couple of hours.
September’s have usually not been kind to the SM, although I wonder how pm’s will react if the SM takes a header. Maybe it will be different this time.
