So it would be interesting to know what his parameters are. Because compared to the noughties run we have high interest rates, nobody can afford a house, China is subdued, tariffs are creating uncertainty (e.g. copper price gyrations!) – his parameters are different to mine. The noughties run did pull me out of the rat race, and a couple of the kids are wondering if there are any similar things happening that they can use to do likewise, especially with house ownership.

Four years ago it was “Inflation is normally a sign of increasing demand and a reasonably healthy economy. The inflation we are getting now is not. It is grounded in debt and a currency debasement war. Hard assets is the way to go. DO NOT MISS THE COMMODITIES BULL as it will literally save your life.”

I don’t think people buy commodities for investment purposes. Some large corporations may, whose primary interest is trading commodities to end users, but the ordinary Joe can’t store megatons of coal or iron ore, or Natgas or oil. So although he was accurate in saying that the inflation is grounded in debt and a currency debasement war, well, those are why there wasn’t a commodities bull. They are partly the reason for the gold bull market we had. Consumption drives commodity prices. Point me to a consumption parameter Graddhy!

I talked to my Japanese friend today. I ask her what tsunami means in Japanese and she said it means to them a series of waves. Tsu series,  Nami means waves. They don’t think of it as Harbor waves. Harbor is a different word too.  She told me the word but can’t spell it. She looked tsunami up and saw it said harbor waves but that’s like a port, something stationary to her. They interpret it different even if it says harbor.  Anyways things aren’t so simple when learning another language as it might seems if from written translators. They see it as we do, a tidal wave.

We had the last commodities boom after the dotcom bust, leading up to the GFC, when economies were financed by cheap money and China was consuming raw materials at a phenomenal rate. What is going to drive the demand for commodities this time?

Hopefully whar will happen is PMs drop a little bit and fall flat and premiums will calm down for a short time. Plus Next year we’re getting a new Fed.

And then you have Trump’s handlers announcing a copper tsunami tariff cut that nuked the price 17% yesterday (and more today), taking silver with it, and painting the tape into month end window dressing – negating negative Fed announcement reactions – and aiding tech earnings announcements – and taking the wind out of PM stocks earnings reactions.

Yesterday was a price management masterpiece for the bankers – but I don’t know if they will be able to keep this crap up.

I am a buyer on this manufactured silver dip today.

Might not be over right here – but in months and years to come this will be looked at as the back test of the breakout at $35 (silver could pullback more in coming months if stocks go down).

That is strange that many quakes all at once especially in summer. I don’t know if the weather and waves have anything to do with it but the ring of fire is generally more active in winter months than summer.

We didn’t even hear about it here. I saw some videos of the quakes in Russia. With one that big they were probably be after shocks for days.

That’s something about that cruise ship and all those people getting stranded. At least the weather is good there. The locals maybe if they could use a few bucks, if they had a extra room and made a bed and breakfast for a night. People might be wary of strangers though. Not saying taking advantage but people can be quiet and or  appreciative guests  or entitled jerks so if jerks at least they’ll  get something for their trouble. They could of opened up a school gym since they have a cafeteria, showers and multi bathrooms if they had cots for emergencys up the hill. They should anyways for their own people. It’s quite fortunate that it was t that bad like that tsunami that hit back in 2004 in the Indian open.

Just FYI, today there were 170 earthquakes from 2.5 up to 8.8 Magnitude. I don’t recall there EVER having been anywhere close to this many earthquakes in a 24 hour period, and I’ve been watching them daily for several years now. SNG
