Maddog – are you thinking we’re going to correct then? All the selling today was on light volume.
Mr. Copper – interesting metric. I’ve also seen the amount of currency in circulation as being a measure of how the POG should be calculated.

Before 1970 the dollar had more purchasing power. Can’t expect business to pay everyone these crooks in Washington rip us off. They need to be held responsible and some need to be hung on one of Wankas lampposts. Everytime they raise wages guess what happens with these vultures like housing, rentals included. So do they and want to take it for themselves.
When we were allowed to own Gold, it was $140/oz, times 20? It should be $2800/oz these days. Silver? It was about $1/oz so today at $32/oz is ahead of the curve already. That would explain is sluggish action.
My new 1969 Camaro was $2840, and my brothers brand new 6pack Hemi Cuda was $2800, my friend Geno’s 1967 Corvette, loaded with a 427 cu inch three carbs was $4508. So, 2800 times 20 $56,000 for a new Camaro. The $4500 Corvette times 20 would be $90,000 today for a corvette.
Houses? They were $40,000 times 20 is $800,000. Gasoline? It was about .25 cents, times 20? it should be $5 a gallon. Property taxes also keep up with inflation because there are two workers living there.
Everybody should demand that the Minimum wage simply keep up inflation, the way things were done before 1970. After which tptb stopped that. So now everybody wants affordable homes, affordable medical insurance etc etc. How about affordable jobs instead?
The whole nation gradually got bankrupted after 1970, too many imports, not enough business profits all leading to lower than needed wages hence the US gov’t can’t bring in enough income to pay its bills and keeps using its credit line which is around $34 trillion.
I had this argument with a friend, that was complaining about for example the “big money” Cops and Teachers make about $175k a year. I told him, they are in unions and simply making what they need to live after taxes. do you want them to make less like everyone else? By the way, when we were just starting out, we made the same money in machine shops and factories as cops and teachers.
I knew back around 1974, we were going downhill economically, and I knew, that if the minimum wage did not keep up with inflation, there would be problems in the future, and now we are in that future.
My grandfather unskilled labor had eight kids and his wife did not work. My fater had five kids and wife didn’t work. I had two kids and wife didn’t work. Add it up, how much would a person need today, to have eight kids and your wife not working. If you make $200,000 today maybe take home $175,000? Thats about $3365 a week, that means you could afford $3365 a month for rent.
States are concerned about both general inflation and housing cost that have skyrocketed. Arizona senator asked when are housing cost going down. Powell told him he can’t control that, it’s demand. Arizona said that interest in loans are 6 % of these inflated housing costs. When are interest rates going down. Paul said that will drive costs up. Arizona said it will free up the buying and selling and maybe help lower costs. Powell said nothing basically. Powell didn’t mind leaving the interest rates to nothing while housing was skyrocketing and wall street buying up property’s or him buying mortgaged backed securities.
Things can change but doesn’t look like Powell is interested in lowering interest rates even after all the damage his low forever interest rates.
One really interesting thing he said or responded to. A senator asked him when is the ink gonna run out. He asked to clarify. What happened when no one wants to buy the treasures. He said that never occured to him. Seriously! Sounded a bit careless to me.
This is the seventh straight week up…with supposedly no news….that is asking a hell of a lot….
Always have to be on the lookout for those Fed minefields. Doesn’t look like he hurt us too much, and he’s wise not to criticize Trumps tariffs.
I see the dollar is weaker even as rates are up some – 3 bips.
Doubtful we’ll come back to positive though, we never do after a flush. Shares don’t look too bad midday. We’ll see how things close.
Bringing up stability. Fed claims they just make the transactions in selling the decisions weren’t his.
They brought up crypto and stable coins. Policy discussions.
It isn’t too helpful if too many people have the 3K target.
Powell is up.
We never come back from an early morning flush, can we change that?
Lol Did David Roth shorten his last name.
5:57 I hope to think so too. He studied economics in college and did well for himself in business and worked for it so I hope to think he is not naive about SM or bonds. I learned a new thing about bonds by Ferrett although it should of been obvious once I realized it so I better stay away from them till I learn more.
Silver is disappointing but it just seems that the longer they hold it down, the bigger the breakout will be.
That’s the hope anyway.
I haven’t heard anything about whether players on the Crimex are standing for delivery or not.
Justice Department Orders Dismissal Of Charges Against NYC Mayor Eric Adams
Last Christmas I handed my son a bag with new design silver eagles, old design eagles and a bunch of other silver coins and collectibles like the Koalas and rolls of 90 % silver quarters for his wife and son case they ever need barter where I just used to give my grandson a eagle here and there but he didn’t know to stay quiet about them a kids asking him if they could have one so then on his mom was his keeper. Told him case something happens you have some of them. Gave him a AU swiss franc told him there going around 400 now. Then he’s trying to give me money buying stuff like a new car battery when the franc went to 500 he’s trying to give me money now here about 600 and I was looking for a item and he said he’ll buy it. Cracks me up he don’t get it. It didn’t cost me that much got it long before. My daughter in law knows the local farmers market vendors well enough if she ever needs to barter at some point. I just gave him the franc so stays aware of something happens and buys more himself.
Other than owning stocks buying and selling as long as the economy is holding out and gold and silver stays with or ahead of inflation. The longer you don’t need it or ever the better.
I just hope these sellers know what they’re doing. I bet some busy dealers you could wait outside with a sign will pay spot.

Bombs away.
Shortage? What shortage? There’s plenty of paper left! 🙂
He may have been referring to the idea that if loads of fraud is found, then running the government will be much cheaper, as it will not need to finance such a large debt pile…..as many projects/depts will close down.
They are working to a plan called Three, Three’s….3 % growth, getting budget deficit below 3 % and increasing oil production by 3 million barrels
Seems right that the local coin dealers would be looking at more sellers, especially in gold.
I noticed that golddealer.com is offering close to 2% under spot for gold eagles, while they’re offering spot for silver.
The dealers are still charging a hefty premium for silver though, which is odd.
The general public here in the US doesn’t seem to be involved in any major way just yet. I suspect most are out of money. I always thought the wealthier among us would come in and sweep out the inventory of these local dealers, but we’re not there yet either.
Maybe the Chinese public will ultimately do the heavy lifting.
I’ll say this though, with all the hoopla surrounding this latest move, it’s still been very orderly. We’ve not seen a 2% up move in gold that I can remember.
Looks like we have to revisit and battle for $2900, while silver still struggles with the $32 level. As exciting as the move in the large cap shares has been, we still haven’t pressed the most recent highs in the HUI despite gold up another $200.
Just like the Demonrats and their judges, the manipulating scum still makes their presence known.
Not what I expected to see this am after the strength last night.
They’ve got silver pinned down again, with gold only up a few bucks. Nothing horrible but was hoping we’d see that big run to $3K today.
Have to wait a little longer.
You both made good points. I think Trump is different than a real estate only. For one thing what do real estate agents like look for? Location Location Location Like beach front Hawaii which really messed up the locals with housing inflation. Or Fink resources in Ukraine which could also burden people of modest income.
Trump’s a builder who likes to improve the location and it’s economy. However like Ferrett says they’ve been there for 6000 years and have their own customs. If he were to build for the benefit of the people of Gaza he would have to consult with them. Their idea or architecture is much different than ours. Now if he’s thinking like the Hotels they put up along the beaches in Oahu after what Isreal did to their city’s which I’m sure many of their people are still buried under that concrete that would be rather arrogant. They would be destroyed. If they built them for the people of Gaza that might be different. They would have to have their own power, their own water maybe desalination plants, shipping ports, agriculture, and everything that goes with city’s and borders. Then if he wanted a few tourist hotels although tourist hotels? If he’s talking about just putting them somewhere else forget it.
He did open conversation that perhaps these neighboring countries should consider and get together and find a solution. These are people in dire need of help and all I can see is they are being used as cannon fodder on both sides and they call them a nuisance.
Ferrett, I see thank you.
