He fired thousands on the government payroll that was about little over 2 million quoted to 1.75 only approximates. The gold clearing banks of London Precious Metals Clearing Ltd (LPMCL) have exhausted the metal they had available for delivery in their own vaults… so they are trying to borrow as much gold as possible via the gold lending market at the Bank of England. But this looks exhausted too.

These clearing banks (JP Morgan, HSBC, UBS and ICBC Standard) need to keep gold in their vaults for their own loco london liquidity. But it looks like they don’t have any more gold to do this.

Counterparty risk has therefore risen between all the LBMA bullion banks which trade unallocated “gold credit” between each other. The clearers, the market makers and all the other LBMA bullion banks and brokers and traders. About 50+ entities.

basically they trade paper “claims” on gold (or the electronic equivalent). These claims are now trading at a discount to reflect the fact that they can’t be converted at will into physical due to a lack of availability of sufficient loco London physical gold.

1 minute knee jerk was a pop in the metals and shares, followed by a drop to negative – a 1% down for silver – but now silver is flat and gold is back up about $10. The shares have sort of trailed off and are approaching flat, with the metals bouncing to and fro.

Nothing like the massacres we’ve seen in the past.

Dollar is moving up, as are rates, (up 4.5 bips) which surprises me a little.

We’ll see if they sell us out of the gates or take a run at us later in the morning. The shares aren’t forecasting that, but never know.

It ties in with my support for Tulsi Gabbard.  While I do believe in “the way, the truth and the light”; I also believe in our founding fathers concept of freedom of religion.  These two ideas are not contradictory as some argue.

Another interesting stock.  I can’t add more because it is at my allocation limit and I bought late in the rise with a cost basis of around 8.  It looks toppy here and a drop toward 9 would not surprise me.  I might be tempted to exceed the allocation a bit if it does but bail if goes lower than that area.

While I have a bigger position in NAK, and I like to limit exposure to very speculative stocks,  still I might add a bit on a pullback.  I won’t hesitate to sell if turns substantially down say showing a new low on the monthly chart.

The chart of NAK is impressive. New high after new high since it bottomed out in October, just a steady up move that looks like it will continue.

LSEG has a buy rating with a target of $1.31.

At least pre-market pm’s are looking decent for the moment. Shares are too. Lord only knows what that will look like at 0830 EST when the report comes out. Maybe the scum is less able to pull off their usual games these days with the soaring lease rates and delayed deliveries? Funny thing, we did not get the usual Fed meeting beat down this last time around. I don’t think I can even remember the last time that happened.

So far, every eco data report has been a miss since after Trump took over. It appears he hasn’t fired enough people just yet so that he has a staff to put out phony data like Biden did. 🙂

No clue if jobs will miss today. Kinda hope so.

Anyhoo, the bull lives at this very early hour. Rates are flat, dollar up a bit, Oil back above $71, Bitcoin up 1/2% but still below $100K
