H i there….been a Linux man myself for similar time…maybe a little longer…started out on Mepis and then when that failed, went over to Mint and been there ever since….yes the curve is steep….but now I rarely open a Terminal, unless I want to try and remember how to work one.

Maddog, I’ve been using Linux for about 12 years now, would never go back to Microsoft. And yet almost everyone I know is still using Windows: talk about brainwashed. Presently use MX Linux but it was a challenging learning curve.

The Chinese used Windows for many years but for about the last 10 or so developed their own operating systems. But they didn’t pay a dime to Microsoft, just ripped off Windows OS and freely distributed it. 🙂

Silicon valley has nuked itself in both feet. If DeepSeek is as good as it seems, and many big name people are saying how good it really is, at a tenth of the energy usage, on non-Nvidia chips and open source – that means it is FREE – then the tech boom is over, energy prices will tumble, the nuclear resurgence to power AI is history, any paywall AI is bankrupt and the Chinese are killing themselves laughing.
