Making America’s Kids Smarter – It’s So Easy
House Bill 145, which promotes a 15-point grading scale, passed its first reading in the House on Monday and has been referred to the Committee on Education K-12.
The proposed bill would mean higher grades for lower scores by changing the grading scale as follows:
•A: 100 to 85 percent
•B: 84 to 70 percent
•C: 69 to 55 percent
•D: 54 to 40 percent
•F: Anything below 40 percent
The old scale was a 10 point scale, meaning students would need to score a 90 for an A, 80 for a B, etc. If passed, the new grading scale would go into effect for the 2019-20 school year.

Boeing 737 Max 8 pilots complained to feds for months about suspected safety flaw
Pilots repeatedly voiced safety concerns about the Boeing 737 Max 8 to federal authorities, with one captain calling the flight manual “inadequate and almost criminally insufficient” several months before Sunday’s Ethiopian Air crash that killed 157 people, an investigation by The Dallas Morning News found.
The News found at least five complaints about the Boeing model in a federal database where pilots can voluntarily report about aviation incidents without fear of repercussions.
The complaints are about the safety mechanism cited in preliminary reports for an October plane crash in Indonesia that killed 189.
The disclosures found by The News reference problems during Boeing 737 Max 8 flights with an autopilot system, and they all occurred while trying to gain altitude during takeoff — many mentioned the plane turning nose down suddenly. While records show these flights occurred during October and November, the information about which airlines the pilots were flying for is redacted from the database.
Records show a captain who flies the Max 8 complained in November that it was “unconscionable” that the company and federal authorities allowed pilots to fly the planes without adequate training or fully disclosing information about how its systems were different from other planes.
The captain’s complaint was logged after the FAA released an emergency airworthiness directive about the Boeing 737 Max 8 in response to the crash of Lion Air Flight 610 in Indonesia.

Its the worse idea possible ! millions of dollars in the richest Salmon producing area in the world .There no such thing as “fail safe”tailings dam..The tailings would be there long after the mine is mines out.There is more money to be made in Salmon in the next hundred years then that mine will ever produce.Its the worst possible place to build a mine period.and any failures would shut down the whole mining business forever .The lobyists hired were Democrats former Senator William Cohen .The lobby money was spread to both Democrats and Republicans ,the worst combination of crooks taking bribe money ever.Its the worst disaster pending that will destroy the whole mining industry.Pebbles mine is the worst mining idea ever ! .Give it to the locals to pan and dont ever make a large scale cyanide process there.
