F.C.C. Plans Net Neutrality Repeal in a Victory for Telecoms

The Federal Communications Commission released a plan on Tuesday to dismantle landmark regulations that ensure equal access to the internet, clearing the way for internet service companies to charge users more to see certain content and to curb access to some websites.

The proposal, made by the F.C.C. chairman, Ajit Pai, is a sweeping repeal of rules put in place by the Obama administration. The rules prohibit high-speed internet service providers, or I.S.P.s, from stopping or slowing down the delivery of websites. They also prevent the companies from charging customers extra fees for high-quality streaming and other services.

The announcement set off a fight over free speech and the control of the internet, pitting telecom titans like AT&T and Verizon against internet giants like Google and Amazon. The internet companies warned that rolling back the rules could make the telecom companies powerful gatekeepers to information and entertainment. The telecom companies say that the existing rules prevent them from offering customers a wider selection of services at higher and lower price points.

Morning Ipso, Farmboy

Thanks Ipso, probably a one off in AXU then, although it was up nicely yesterday I think it closed 10% off the highs. Nice day anyway though.

Always felt Google and Facebook were government creations. Guys like Zuckerberg  given these massive companies because of their globalist views and being so easily corruptible.

Farmboy – you’ve been doing well on the trade side, keep it going. We’ll see what the weekend brings.

I feel the same way about Google. They act like they’re a subsidiary of the NSA, think it’s their right to spy on you as much as possible. I sure don’t understand why people accept all this invasion of their privacy.

Duck Duck Go works fine as a browser and dumps all your searches every day.

Good and bad news for Alexco (AXU) (AXR.to)

The good news: It’s up strongly today on good volumes.

The bad news: It’s due to a reco by that dumbass Doody, so when he pulls the plug a few months down the line the opposite occurs.

Good Morning Oasis ! Maya, Better Start Another Pot of Coffee,

if the Fed announces the next rate hike today, things could get quite bumpy in the PM’s. With all the markets hitting new highs, and most economic data ( twisted as it is) hard to imagine Yellen not increasing rates. Guess will just pour another cup and watch the action. Kinda hoping the PM’s go down over next couple days so I can find some ‘Black Friday’ shopping prices on those SLV Mar calls. 🙂

With Jan/Feb 30 year seasonals in our favor, it’s hard not to believe the Mar 16’s will not serve us well. And with just a little luck, even the 17 and 18 strike prices could end far above the money. Worth a try, imho.

Stalking

Unwanted contact like Hillary that won’t go away. I saw her on TV saying her former opponent is obsessed with her speaking out and about how does he gets things done with his tweeting. Well he does Hillary and the only one obsessed is her with her unwanted interference. Armstrong once said these establishment politicians ” swamp creatures” won’t give up power easily. Understatement. She appears to be stalking him now.

Hump Day.

The Canadian Pacific beaver rolls thru downtown Bellevue Iowa.
Once, as a young paperboy, I rode a Burlington Zephyr thru town here on a detour going to the Twin Cities. In the middle of the night, people were coming out of their homes to see a passenger train roll thru town.

I won’t do Google ANYTHING

Posted by Maya @ 0:35 on November 22, 2017

No Chromebook for me.  EVERY Google app appears to have some kind of tracking.  Old neighbor of mine came for a visit and she is the ultimate social media queen.  Tried to get me signed up on some google social media app that she texted to me directly.  Before I opened it, I looked it up…. google tracking included.  I called her on it and she said,  “Well of course!  I want to know where my friends are!  If I hear of a car accident in your area I want to know if you are all right or where you are!”   Sorry…. I don’t need mother-tracking.   She was miffed that I refused to load it… just for her.   So later she sends me all the pictures that she took during her visit.    Again… from a google app.   With just a teaser of the first picture, the button says  “Open in App”.    Sure enough… another google app that won’t allow you to open pictures except from within a google picture app.  More tracking included.   I dumped the pictures package without opening.

I use Startpage.com as my homepage and privacy search engine.
