Also today is a triple witch–an opening rally could-possibly-maybe–set up a bearish reversal–a rally also shows complacency–that said, it’s hard to imagine the FED would allow a crash-especially in an election year…long shots have big odds: the favorite pays, at best, even money.

Secret Alpine Gold Vaults Are the New Swiss Bank Accounts

Posted by ipso facto @ 9:22 on September 30, 2016

Deep in the Swiss Alps, next to an old airstrip suitable for landing Gulfstream and Falcon jets, is a vast bunker that holds what may be one of the world’s largest stashes of gold. The entrance, protected by a guard in a bulletproof vest, is a small metal door set into a granite mountain face at the end of a narrow country lane. Behind two farther doors sits a 3.5-ton metal portal that opens only after a code is entered and an iris scan and a facial-recognition screen are performed. A maze of tunnels once used by Swiss armed forces lies within.

The owner of this gold vault wants to remain anonymous for fear of compromising security, and he worries that even disclosing the name of his company might lead thieves his way. He’s quick to dismiss questions about how carefully he vets clients but says many who come to him looking for a safe haven for their assets don’t pass his sniff test. “For every client we take, we turn one or two away,” he says. “We don’t want problems.”

Not much, just the end of the current financial system started.

Scum gonna have to buy all stocks offered. sell all PM’s bid and buy dollars all day, in the hope that prices do little, in order to keep CNBC happy campers.

Argentina judge rules Barrick mine to remain suspended

Posted by ipso facto @ 9:05 on September 30, 2016

BUENOS AIRES, Sept 30 (Reuters) – A judge in Argentina ruled on Friday to keep Barrick Gold Corp’s operations at Veladero mine suspended, saying repairs were not sufficient to reopen it after a leak of processing solution containing cyanide earlier this month.

State news agency Telam said the judge’s decision was based on a report from mining police in San Juan province that said the Toronto-based company had not installed security cameras and sensors as the local government had required.

A Barrick representative in Argentina said the company had not been notified of the decision.

Telam also said the judge overseeing the case, Pablo Oritja, would go on vacation on Friday.

Barrick, the world’s largest gold producer, announced the spill at Veladero, one of its five main mines, on Sept. 15. The province had fined the miner nearly $10 million for a September 2015 leak.

Barrick President Kelvin Dushnisky told Reuters on Sept. 19 that he thought the mine could start operating again in two weeks.

The repairs would include lifting a berm, or raised bank, over which the processing solution flowed, he said at the time.

Barrick has not said how much processing solution was spilled. Tests by United Nations investigators in October showed the year-earlier spill had not contaminated local water supplies.
