But I must admit, while reading of your adventure, I was tempted for all of two seconds to grab a Betacam and head off into some war zone. Reality sinks in faster in my old age and I comfortably returned back to the computer screen where no bullets are zipping by my head. lol

My adventure for this week was trying to eat an ice cream cone before the dog sitting next to me could eat his own, and then stare at me while I finished mine. It gave me brain freeze but I did it. Funny, how I measure success these days. I can eat ice cream faster than my dog.

Well, I hope you spend this day in a more relaxing, and safer, manner. And I really think you should stick to trains these days. Generally speaking, I rarely get more than a few feet off the ground. I even hire out some kid to clean the gutters. I figure he would bounce better.

When you live on a volcano…  what’s the worst that could happen?  We all surf the volcano in one way or another.  There’s danger… and you learn to measure it and live with it.  We all know that these are Mme. Pele’s lands, and she can take them at any time.  In 1986, the day the flow was to take the first house, I and a TV photog. had a helicopter ride over the eruptive vent.  We were a thousand feet above this, but it was like being shoved into an oven… so hot you couldn’t breathe.

I was lucky this day.  That evening my photog friend and the same pilot went out after dark to catch the first house burning as lava engulfed it.  NBC paid big bux to get that video.  When they flew over this vent again, it had a major “BURP” and sprayed the helicopter with hot lava shards.  Burned holes in the photog’s jacket as he hung out the door, and took nicks out of the helicopter blade.  They limped back OK, but the machine was grounded for a rotor replacement after that.     …just surfin’ the volcano!

Geez Farmboy I think just about all the PM shares are near highs of the year … and the ones that aren’t, aren’t too good. AXU has been a big winner for me. On Friday I bought a bunch of midgets, GARWF, GTAGF, KOOYF, WFRSF, AFQMF, and IEGCF. I know that they won’t all work out but I’ll buy more shares of the ones that gain. If a couple fly I’ll be in the clover, so to speak.

Some of the more solid ones I like are NGD, SAND, AG, KLDX, MUX and EXK. I’ve been overweighting silver stocks.

I made a decision long ago, should I ever be diagnosed with cancer, it will be one of my ‘go to’ drugs. Unless they can show me where chemo/radiation has a 80% ‘cure rate’ I plan on going ‘alternative’. On the other hand, smoking pot does not increase cognitive thinking or improve IQ. Especially by politicians who already have the intelligence of a sponge.

I have a friend dying now whose recent comment was ” Its a matter of what gets me first, the cancer or the chemo.” The ‘treatments’ have taken out his intestines, and reduced his liver and kidney function to near zero. The chemo/rad is literally burning him up from the inside out. Not to mention completely destroying his immune system.

His name is Tony, and he is a muscian, songwriter, and has just produced his first CD of all original songs. He has a recording studio in a spare bedroom and friends come by to record tracks on days he has a little energy. It has truly been a labor of love on the part of his friends.

I know we generally do not ‘advertise’ products at the Oasis, but if Admin doesn’t mind, I would like to put up a link to his music. He has some of Nashville’s greatest talent laying down musical tracks, quite impressive. I know it lifts his spirit whenever someone buys one of his CD’s. Watching his fight, seeing his pain, ( He wrote the words to one of his songs while lying on a gurney in the ER.) he is one tough man, but its not looking good for him.

And no, he does not know about my adventures as a ‘Frog’, and I did not have anything to do with the design of the CD cover. ! 🙂
