A day or two later , Giustra’s company has authorization to cut down a forest near the Pacific .

The timber that is cut is shipped to Asia .

New Presidente is sworn in , and rescinds the deforestation permit . GOOD !

Comment: Agreed. I take PMs to mean shares. No problem holding them. Lets face it. Stock and futures players are two different animals. It shouldn’t be this way, but PMs do tend to move with contracts.

Early on Dollar fell, Gold gained $16, then later dollar gained and gold fell to (-$3.20) We really can’t complain lately. YTD was great, surpassed all my best expectations.

In Dec I re-activated my little trail blazer trading account with $29,000 and its right now $72,558. You gotta see the four other Roth accounts I’m managing. I’m so satisfied I could cash out now and relax, but why?

This looks like more of the same. There’s no reason for “traders” to dump pm’s before the weekend and buy the stock market into the close. USD is weaker, oil is up. Sorry but this is more “normal market action” courtesy of the scum banksters.

Are generally afraid of what can happen to their “bet” during a weekend. So cashing out on a Friday makes sense.

Notional?? I call futures E-Motional. So, Emotional Gold opened up for who knows what emotional reason, and then for some other emotional reason like fear of losing a TON of borrowed money on margined futures play, they panic out. They really should limit the commodities markets to the producers and users ONLY.

Most of the “contracts” are really phantom contracts, created out of thin air to give millions of people something to BET on. And artificially establish an incorrect price determined by the BETTING rather than actual supply and demand function, which is probably quite stable and boring.

Picture a super bowl game, and the people in the stands are betting which team will win. Then the team most favored wins. Futures players don’t realize they are being used and abused like a shock absorber in an all terrain vehicle.

They are there only for gov’t price control, and hedging by the actual producers and consumers of the physical commodity. The gov’t ultimately picks winners and losers. Its very important that the masses (and businesses) to get food and fuel etc.

So the gov’t thru manipulating the futures market re Dollar etc can make Oil and Food go up, and causing producers to over produce, and BINGO, you have plenty of cheap Oil.

Re COMEX gold up $16, with Dollar down this morning, and suddenly we have gold down .50 cents and dopey/dollar up. I think we all better lock in more physical before the bottom falls out. The system and or market action or prices values etc, even the BRAINS of TPTB, are distorted, volatile and irrational.

If crooked Hillary gets in , she’ll call off the EPA on this one project because she’s greedy. (Behind the scenes , of course ) . NAK should outperform its peers in that case .

If Trump gets in , the EPA will be reined in to promote business expansion , and NAK will rise with the tide .

Not sure what either Presidency will do for the PM’s . In Trump’s case will free markets increase supply via more producing mines , and reduce demand so the price of Au, etc. pulls back ? Not likely , I think .

Asteroid miner Deep Space to launch first commercial mission by 2020

US-based asteroid mining firm Deep Space Industries (DSI) is planning to send a prospecting spacecraft before the end of the decade to search for resources in celestial bodies, which would become the first commercial mission beyond Earth’s orbit.

The company, based in Mountain View, California, said its Prospector-1 — a 50-kg satellite — was designed to visit a nearby asteroid and look for deposits of water ice that could, in the future, be mined and used as fuel by other spacecraft.

The spacecraft, to be propelled by water, will expels hot water vapour to move forward, according to DSI. That’s important because it means that future water-propelled mining vehicles could potentially “refuel” in space, using water gathered from asteroids.

Every single time, day week or month that gold goes gown, it’s a MISTAKE. Remember the first 12 year run, ’00 -’12?

A bull market will keep most people off and out. They will wait way too long to get in, until they are CERTAIN there is an uptrend. Then they get what they subconsciously wanted, to LOSE.

A bear market will keep them IN right to the end. Won’t let them off. They will wait for a turn around that never happens, and when they finally give up, and sell out, it is usually right at rock bottom, start of a new bull mkt.

FYI, re CNBC ticker lines at bottom of screen. I’ve never seen so many miner tickers on pre market in my life, so they must be getting more popular. Or acceptable.

I hope Lloyd doesn’t check his Bloomberg, or he will have heart failure……

As lava from Kilauea flows to the sea, it forms a ‘shelf’ that eventually breaks off and slides underwater down the steep slopes.  The whole southeast coastline of the Big Island has a giant crack and cliff where the land area below Kilauea is sinking into the sea.  That whole wedge could break sending hundreds of square miles of land into the ocean.  The resultant Tsunami would reach Honolulu some 200 miles distant in a mere 20 minutes… with a 100 foot wall of water.

And yes, there is an undersea ‘seamount’ eruptive cone named Loihi that is slowly building.  Estimates are in 10,000 years it will finally break the surface and become a new island just a few miles south offshore… depending on what happens with the wedge break above.
