ipso facto @ 10:30 Gee, I Hope Hillary Dont Hurt Trump

Posted by Farmboy @ 10:51 on August 15, 2016

Going to make for an awkard moment during the debates if Hillary puts a vise like grip on him during the handshake. 🙂

You know how one thing leads to another, found this article at the link you provided. Maybe I just need to flip a coin for my trading decisions?

What a well-known researcher discovered when he asked people to flip a coin on important life decisions.

Doubt we hear anything from Hillary on this, but if she did say something, well, we know her point of view dont we?

Today’s men are not nearly as strong as their dads were, researchers say

Posted by ipso facto @ 10:30 on August 15, 2016

A man’s hands say a lot about him. My own father, at 66, still has the calloused, gnarled hands of a guy who did competitive weightlifting in college and spent much of his career grappling with 1,500-pound dairy cattle as a large animal veterinarian. I, on the other hand, have the soft palms of a modern-day desk jockey. My hands are delicate, well-moisturized, and prone to blisters if I spend too much time in the garden.

And I’m not the only one. A new study in press at the Journal of Hand Therapy (yes, a real thing) finds that millennial men may have significantly weaker hands and arms than men the same age did 30 years ago.

Researchers measured the grip strength (how strongly you can squeeze something) and pinch strength (how strongly you can pinch something between two fingers) of 237 healthy full-time students aged 20 to 34 at universities in North Carolina. And especially among males, the reduction in strength compared to 30 years ago was striking.

Portugeezer @ 5:21 Spilled My Coffee Reading That One !

LOL

Kinda puts a new perspective on the Hilderbeast. Any ‘normal’ woman would do exactly that, Dump the lying, lazy, cheating, good for nothing, jackel. Also gives a new meaning, if not understanding, of the phrase, ‘politics makes strange bed partners’. And reveals that Hillary is NOT the strong woman she tries to project to everyone.

Think I will do my good deed for the day by coping and pasting that and passing it on down the line. I see some friends smiling at that one this morning. Thanks.

Portugeezer @ 5:28 on August 14, Well Done, Great Writing !

I think you have captured the very essence of Donald Trump at the heart and mind level. How I would love for him to give that speech and clear the stale, polluted, air of current politics. But honestly, I think that will be revealed during his inaugerational speech.

While millions would like to hear him just come out and say what is truly on his heart and mind, I think the Trump is too smart, and plays his best, can most important thoughts, close to the vest. He is a master at the ‘Art of the Deal’. I think he is doing a great job thus far. There is what he says, and then there is the demeanor of a successful strong man that comes across to so many, even those who dont neccesarly care for the man at first glance. His presence on stage sends a message of confidence and strength. Qualities that many Americans long for and wish to see in a leader.

I imagine when Trump walks into a boardroom to negoiate a deal, everyone in the room knows that he is not going to BS them, but shoot straight, tell it like it is, like it or lump it. In short, he deals from a position of power and strength only a fool would not respect.

I am looking forward to the debates, one on one, with the Hillary creature. I think he is going to rattle her pyscyhe like no one else has or can. Verbally, emotionally, intellectually, he is going to beat her like a pup as someone said. It wont be pretty, but it will be effective. Trump has a sense of when to ‘close the deal’. When there is weakness, or blood, on the table. He knows how to listen for the crack or pitch in the voice of his adversary, or the flinch of an eye, the nervous tapping of fingers on a table. This is in his instinct, in his genes. It comes natural for him.

I think we are going to hear that speech you dreamed. Its not yet time. 🙂

Thanks for a great post. Gives me something to continue to ponder over.

Guatemala: Mining royalty payments set to increase

Last week in the politics section we noted the slight mystery of a new Vice-minister of Mining in Guatemala. This week the reasons behind the change may have become clear, as the country’s President Jimmy Morales announced (10) a whole range of tax increase proposals that include a bump of duty on fuel from Thee Quetzals (GTQ) to Five Quetzals (1 Quetzal = U$0.133) per US gallon, additions to VAT (sales tax) and corporate income tax back up to 29% (from 25%).

All those will affect mining costs in Guatemala indirectly, but the one that really matters is the Jimmy Morales proposal to raise royalties on extractive industries (i.e. O&G and mining) from 1% to 10%. At the moment, several mining companies in Guatemala are paying more than the legally stipulated 1%, with “voluntary payments” topping up royalties to between 5% and 5.5% (the highest profile cases are Goldcorp at Marlin and Tahoe Resources at Escobal). But the royalty initiative is only one of a total of 47 changes proposed by parliamentarians the current Mining Law, there will be a lot to talk about next week including one of the other main events a clause to give official prior consultancy rights to locals directly affected by any mining project. Theoretically this law already exists as part of the OIT169 international rule book to which Guatemala is a signee, but the country now wants prior consultancy in its own organic law.
