First it was good you helped your daughter esp in a time where woman’s education did not seem important than men’s.  In fact it was more important during a time when good wage jobs were male dominated. There was no heathcare andno heathcare for anyone injured on the job either. I almost got blinded by one job as a teen because of a foremans lack of attentiveness about another worker multi people complained about having to do her job and Theres when no need and be just moved other people around her then put me there in harms way.  Then lack  of action when I was injured. That could of resulted in complete and permanent blindness if I didn’t  already have some nursing experience to know what to do about it. The only one that did anything about it was a woman supervisor above him when a friend brought it up to her.  I think if she would of been a man instead nothing would have changed. I remember hearing a story about a young woman who got a job at phone company operator. Remember those jobs? She got the flu and gossip started by the local back stabbers. They started a rumor she was pregnant. The supervisors including woman being their own worst enemies snobs fired her saying that she was a bad influence on the other women. Today there is protection from this sort of discrimination and plain bulling. Regulations have their purpose but also have to be realistic.

Obama care puts the burden on both families and job creators. It just makes what you mentioned and all aware of worse. They will never change and the only way to stop it is to put it back into their hands at this point. Let them pay for it. Then you can bet things will change and fast.

Add to that a foreign infiltrated ANTI AMERICAN Gov’t. Sold us out. They started with bashing on the United Auto workers in Detroit back in the 1970s era of propaganda.

Lets not forget the EPA killing businesses. Lets not forget the Dept Of Labor, spewing under stated cost of living increases. Muzzling Soc Sec raises, muzzling minimum wage levels.

Add to that phony GDP numbers, that include retail of imports and zero production service sector.

First of all, they are Ugly, no use except for making handbags and sometimes a pair of boots. They hiss, and snarl, swing that tail around like it had a Hillary for President sign attached to it. And sometimes, it’s true, they chew the legs and ears off a BULLDOG.

Bulldog <<< Man’s Best Friend

Gator <<< 2nd Cousin to Hillary

But I think this year the ‘fix is in’. We are spiking the Gatorade with Holy Water. I know, it dont seem fair. But we are getting desperate for a WIN this season. I figure it’s our turn. I mean the PM’s are having a good year, Hillary cant even stand up anymore, so as long as good things are happening, why not a DAWG Win ?

The 1960 ‘s

Posted by Ororeef @ 15:23 on August 9, 2016

In my business I did not have Healthcare to deal with ,only large corporations gave HealthCare !  ,but I’ll tell you you I didnt need Healthcare ! my 4 children were born in the 1960’s  My oldest in 1962 ,I paid out of Pocket …I still remember ..The Hospital cost was $265.00 for 3 Days and that included doctors, and everything ! That amounted to about TWO weeks pay for a average working person of that time !  TRY doing that today !  Insurance companies became a middle man and raised the cost at least 30% HIGHER THAN NEEDED. ..iT STILL THAT WAY TODAY !Only thing Insurance did was raise the costs…Health CARE today is way out of whack in relation to other costs of Living. The only other Racket similar today is College Education  ..My oldest Daughter I spoke of ..when she went University of Virginia The costs were $3000.per YEAR which I paid and she worked for about 3/4 of it was paid in cash ..No debt… She paid for most of it from her savings and summer work ,I helped.  In High school she worked 32 hours a week while working after school in evenings and weekends .Her grades didn’t suffer as she was (2nd) in her class. of 600 ..Only in one year that I had 4 in college at the same time did I borrow for one year only .So we got through with only a small borrowing for one year only . They got out with NO debt ! They all worked ,I helped ..I am very proud of their accomplishments …! Impossible to do that today !

Ps if we did have a nanny state with free healthcare and education job security and retirement not looted and that keeps up with real inflation I bet the gov would think twice about open borders outsourcing and insourcing. Because all of a sudden it would be them who would have to pay  for it instead of us. This is one reason other industrial countries make it hard to obtain residency for fear they would be a burden. As long as the gov can pass those cost into us instead they will just work for Wall Street.

Your plant was perhaps one in a few. Most manufactures are for their bottom line with a huge wage discrepancy between the producers and the boards. Especially if they are in the stock market. Then the people no longer matter. They take the wages and conditions  they give them or else they move to China? Did they have heathcare or vacation pay. Did their wages keep up with REAL inflation? I heard in France it is mandatory workers get 5 weeks off a year. Does China do that? I doubt it. Besides taxes free heathcare would take a big burden off job makers.  Lower taxes and free heathcare ” to citizens only like everywhere else” would help. Also how many factories and construction companies even hotels hired illegals over citizens?

Most of this is not because they can’t get the help. It’s because they can’t get the help for the wages they want to pay vs real costs. A lot of that goes back to the gov bringing these cost up. The time being able to live on minimum wage are over. We can thank Wall Street for a big part of that. The boards and their bottom line. If a company is not expanding or increasing profits Wall Street dumps them over another that is even if they pay dividends. So how do they do that? Increasing costs of these products or moving to CHINA. People can say it’s not wall streets Fault it’s Gov. BS it’s both. Then both can pass the buck to each other.

Now it cost 500 bucks for a phone. I remember buying a 57 Chevy in excellent condition for 500 buck as a teen on my minimum wage job. Then they talk about if they didn’t outsource it would bring cost up. BS

There outsourcing to make the most money they can so their not going to discount prices. In fact since we lost local competition it’s driven prices up compliments of Wall Street and gov. In Spain one region has it so of a country outsources they can start up the same company there and then tell the people they outsource so who are you going to buy from? Also they had a option if the lost their job instead of getting unemployment they can get a lump some of a few years of unemployment group together and start their own company. Also they have equal say on boards so not likely to outsource in the first place.

If a business it’s hirtimg they can lower wages by a small percent to everyone including the owners instead of laying off or others can absorb the people. We have a inane system that not only outsources they let others in to take their jobs. No job security at all.

PS as far as some of these states that went under and starting to pick up how can we trust that either when we see how they did the lives they ruined before them. They will just do it again when the time is right. They may have some incentives now but they won’t stay in place once they think they have them where they want them. There is no job stability with the current parasitic government. The Gov wants to take credit for it when it was the gov who caused the crash and the people who started trying to pick up the pieces not them.

Portfolio Balance increases relentlessly !  More Buyers ,than Sellers  !

If you own Gold stocks you’ll be ok ,if no assets, your screwed as prices increase & wages stay flat.

WAGES will determine inflation expectations in the near term … average wage will put a noose around inflation expectations !   Its going to be very hard with immigration at high levels and large per cent of unemployed  !

Twenty per cent of Households have NO wage earner which implies  a 20 % real unemployment rate  ! private sector …and then partial employment is going to keep it down  !

This portends a Long term Bull Market as inflation is not a problem …

Very bad for those on fixed income and no assets ..retired are getting screwed by Obama  like savers .

virtually no increases in SS for 5 years …no return on assets  !  typical Communist economy !

Mr Copper, Farmboy and Florida

Posted by goldielocks @ 12:54 on August 9, 2016

Florida, that about sums it up, for women too.

Mr Copper and Farmboy, That’s another side tracking trick the politicians are playing. We’re not at war with China or any other country who has absorbed our jobs. The people, just ordinary people working jobs just like we did in manufacturing  just working to provide for their families with a small taste of freedom that they can actually have something. These system is still under dictatorship. Just recently the people were in a uproar over a order to shoot to kill all dogs. Even go in people’s homes and kill them in a providence because a few stray dogs were found to have rabies. Instead of starting up a vaccination program for rabies or even dogs that were vaccinated. I could go on with the injustices they suffer but would be getting off the point. They have the same issues, jobs, wages to keep up with real costs.

We are at war with our own government and these companies moving out. It’s easy for a politican to say, “It’s them over there and because they manipulate their currency.” That might be a small part of it although we know it can happen here too like Helicopter Ben, which hurts their economy as well as ours when it happens here. Real prices vs wages.

While their having us look over there politicians are quietly selling us out while creating a police state or nanny state what they want you to believe when it’s police or dictatorship.  We’re going the other way toward dictatorship while seeing our jobs leave and real wages decrease. So people see these others economy’s doing better now and resent them for stealing them. Probably  not in reality for the average producer over there if you hear about the working conditions like that factory Romney runs but easy to resent them. They’re not stealing them as much as our gov is giving them away. Yea they did study our once productive economy to compete. They probably knew the current gov is for sale so made their move. All they had to do is funnel money to them.

As far as nanny states here thats a joke. A nanny state uses the tax money to take care of its people and keep jobs at home as well as provide incentives for start ups. They provide education for all to standards and college as well. They provide free healthcare where they don’t have to worry about losing their job, retirement or any changes including having a child. A nanny state actually gives back to the citizens the taxes they pay. Here we have taxes and get nothing back except dictatorship.

In the US we have people voting for con artists telling them they will do those things but never happens. We elect against dictatorship rather than a nanny state in exchange for freedoms but the majority voted for nanny state. Instead all were getting is a fake nanny state where we get nothing from the taxes we pay but more taxes either or both directly or indirectly and dictatorship increasing. People are mistaking nanny state with dictatorship like Hillary who is preaching one thing but will do another carrying on where Obama left off where the only ones who will profit are foreign states including those who preach death to infidels.

When people are hurting as they lose everything, these people can sound convincing because it’s the only hope they have but they are being lied to for more of the same. She will increase taxes while increasing cost including heath care, continue to get favors for outsourcing, continue dictatorship in the form of PC or laws in return to help the muslim nations infiltrate while upsurping our constitution, continue to cripple our economy and soverignty and wage war so people can see her as the great commander while innocent lives are lost as well as Americans now including young women. They can let things like ISIS start up and grow to justify it as people start figuring out their game that this is not our war. It was paid for and manufactured by them. She can preach nanny state all she wants but will do the opposite. Know them by their deeds.

Farmboy @ 10:35 P.S. re Slowing Economy

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 11:27 on August 9, 2016

They say Detroit is growing now. Parts of the economy are going down, while other parts are starting to do better. Like slack tide? Its coming in and going out at the same time.

Increased domestic inventories tells me the Chinese economy is slowing. They deserve it. Also tells me retail sales of imports are slowing. They deserve it. Importers and retailers of cheap imports had a lot of good years, and deserve to get punished for helping China prosper at Americas expense.

An entire generation of Americans took the whole ride down after ’75 and an entire generation of foreigners took the whole ride up after ’75.(until 2008)

I KNOW you are NOT a nitwit. Pretty much the opposite you are. I’m glad you said what you said. Inventories and purchasers are related to RETAIL. And the BOZOS have no business, putting RETAIL in a “productivity” subject.

I was talking my experiences with factories, factory PRODUCTION workers.

Retail certainly is in big trouble. manufacturing started having trouble after 1975. All others problems came later. Retail second to last. The last to have trouble are the public employees.

I see signs manufacturing is returning. We were first out in ’75, and first back in after ’09. Retail will be bad for a long time imo.

Mr.Copper @ 10:23 I’m Probably A Nitwit, But Here Is My Simplistic View

Posted by Farmboy @ 10:35 on August 9, 2016

Low productivity, compiled with increased inventories tells me the economy is slowing. I read the increase in inventoy as buyers are holding back on purchases. (shrug) I really dont know, and have a great deal of trouble believing anything the Gubberment says. 🙂

Apparently the markets are taking it all as good news this morning.

Farmboy @ 8:52 re US productivity unexpectedly drops for a third straight quarter

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 10:23 on August 9, 2016

This is my unique observation or view, not gleaned from mass media.

The above drop in productivity is actually a very good sign of growing jobs. It’s pretty simple. The opposite of that in INCREASED productivity, a negative sign, for workers. Same amount of work with less workers.

For example, if an employer lays off some of the crew, for lack of profit, the remaining crew has to work harder, and the financial mass media considers it an increase in worker productivity.

When profits are up, and the boss can afford to hire his brother-in-law, or employees can get their friends in, productivity per employee drops. Same amount of work, with more profit, and more employees.

China buying Gold Mines Instead of Gold Bullion

A top industry official from the China Gold Association told The China daily back in February that the Chinese purchase of IMF bullion would cause market speculation and volatility. Instead, China is continuing to buy gold not directly from the market but through acquiring gold mines…abroad!

Dennis Gartman reported in March: “Perhaps we are to begin owning gold mines rather than gold futures of gold ETFs. We have avoided owning mines for years, preferring the “purer” play of owning gold rather than the mines, for we fear being exposed to poor mine management, or accidents in a mine that might do damage to the equity while gold itself moves higher. But if the Chinese authorities want to own mines, perhaps we have to consider doing so also…”

US productivity unexpectedly drops for a third straight quarter

Posted by Farmboy @ 8:52 on August 9, 2016

The Labor Department said on Tuesday that productivity, which measures hourly output per worker, dropped at a 0.5 percent annual rate in the April-June period. It was the third consecutive quarterly decline.

Productivity fell at an unrevised 0.6 percent rate in the first quarter. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast productivity rising at a 0.4 percent rate in the second quarter.

Productivity decreased at a 0.4 percent rate compared to the second quarter of 2015, the fastest pace of decline in three years. Revisions to data going back to 2013 also confirmed the softening productivity trend, which over time would suggest pressure on corporate profits and a slowdown in job gains.”
