What a great day to be riding the gold train! Like a blast from the past… The luxury liner of the 60’s, the Union Pacific “City of Los Angeles” on it’s westward trek. The demand was too great for just one train, apparently, as this is the first section with sleepers and first class diners. The second section of the train follows in about half an hour with the ‘all coach’ section. 24 hours to Los Angeles. This particular locomotive survives today and still pulls the UP Gold Trains!
