That would hurt. I’m glad that Russia has some non military options

Posted by ipso facto @ 11:33 on November 24, 2015

Some have suggested Vladmir Putin’s first retaliation for the Turkish shooting down of a Russian fighter jet would be to cut off gas supplies (which represent 57% of Turkey’s supply). With Russia Defense Minister stating that the “downing of the Russian warplane is a ‘hostile act’,” adding that the defense ministry is “devising a set of measures to respond to the incident,” it seems taking the ‘nuclear option’ of cutting off 20% of Erdogan’s entire energy supply would be a strong first non-lethal non-World-War-3-starting step.

“It begs the question, if Putin retaliates how will NATO respond?”

I guess it depends on what the retaliation consists of. Economic reprisals and all is well. Russia bombs Istanbul and all bets are off. If Russia shoots down a Turkish airplane … I don’t know what happens next after that.

We can’t let Turkish provocations draw us into a bigger war. A person could argue that we are on the wrong side in this business.

I hope the Turks were acting on their own, I really do. It begs the question, if Putin retaliates how will NATO respond?

No doubt, Putin hitting the source of ISIS funds via Erdogan’s effort to enrich himself surely pissed him off.

Leads to another question, why didn’t we hit those oil resources in the beginning? The answer to me seems obvious – we are complicit.

Nothing says, everything will be fine like capping pm’s.  We haven’t ever seen gold have any kind of sustained move on “news”. Best guess, the banksters are using those freshly minted longs on Comex to keep the price contained. Same old.

Dell puts a “back door” into their computers

Dell admits security flaw was built in to computers

A security hole that could allow attackers to access users’ personal data was inadvertently placed on Dell computers, the company has admitted.

The hole represented a “profound security flaw” that could allow access to bank details and other personal data, experts said.

Dell has issued guidance on removing the software that produced it.

The news comes after Lenovo was also criticised for pre-installing adware that potentially compromised security.

One user, posting on Reddit, reported finding that their Dell machine came pre-installed with a self-signed root certificate authority, called “eDellRoot”, and the private key associated with it.

I agree the ISIS oil trade should have been shut down much earlier. The Turks may have been part of the reason it kept going. Could have been some secret deals going on … maybe the US use of Incirlick AFB, I dunno.

List of cities by state O will be dropping off more alleged refugees.

Meanwhile a Maine christian was beat to death by three not Syrians but Somali’s while he held his Bible. They better make Shaira illegal in all states pretty soon. One Muslim Judge already sided with one.

The drop offs are all over some states. One by Disney in Calif. Knew bunch of people there once all left.

I don’t know Erdogan has his own motives with the Kurds, likely religious.

William Engdahl via Pal Craig Roberts article:

The Fall Of The Unipower

“Putin, without naming it, addresses the US and NATO role in creating ISIS, noting with precision the curious anomaly that the sophisticated new US Treasury unit to conduct financial sanctions against terrorist organizations, has utterly ignored the funding sources of ISIS, their oil sales facilitated by the Turkish President’s own family to name just one. The Russian President stated, “the Islamic State itself did not come out of nowhere. It was initially developed as a weapon against undesirable secular regimes. Having established control over parts of Syria and Iraq, Islamic State now aggressively expands into other regions. It seeks dominance in the Muslim world and beyond…The situation is extremely dangerous. In these circumstances, it is hypocritical and irresponsible to make declarations about the threat of terrorism and at the same time turn a blind eye to the channels used to finance and support terrorists, including revenues from drug trafficking, the illegal oil trade and the arms trade.”

“In late September it was reported that Major Anas Obaid a.k.a. Abu Zayd, on completing his CIA training in Turkey, defected from the train-and-equip program to join Jabhat al-Nusra (Al Qaeda in Syria) immediately on entering Syria. Incredibly, US officials admit that Washington does not track or exercise command-and-control of its Jihadist proxies once they enter Syria. Abu Zayd’s defection after being trained in advanced warfare techniques by the US, is typical. Other elements of the New Syrian Forces directly handed all their weapons to Nusra upon entering Syrian territory at the town of Atareb at the end of September.”

I haven’t read that article you linked yet but tell me this: If Turkey was a vassal state of the US then how come they are bombing the Kurds who the US has been supporting? They must have known we wouldn’t like that. We have special forces embedded with the Kurds and the Turks are bombing them. Turkey is going their own way.

I don’t doubt that the US helped organize ISIS in the beginning but I see it as a Frankenstein monster who has morphed into something uncontrollable.

I hope that Obama is strong enough to resist being led into a war with Russia by Turkish actions. Erdogan is a nutcase and we shouldn’t let him dictate US foreign policy.

PS Paul Craig Roberts and William Engdahl are smart people but I sure don’t take what they say as God’s own truth.

Russia prepares reprisals against Ukraine over Crimea blackout

Posted by ipso facto @ 10:14 on November 24, 2015

Russia said on Tuesday it would cut off gas supplies to Ukraine and threatened to halt coal deliveries, ratcheting up a dispute over a power blackout in Crimea at a time when a ceasefire between Kiev and separatist rebels is fraying.

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak accused the Ukrainian authorities of deliberately refusing to help rebuild power lines to Russia-annexed Crimea, which were blown up by unknown saboteurs over the weekend.

The peninsula of 2 million people is relying on emergency generators to meet its basic power needs, with pro-Ukrainian activists, including nationalist battalions and ethnic Tartars, preventing repairs.

Obama knew about that for awhile. When terrorist formed ISIS and started moving on in convoys the military were basically told to stand down.  Israelis threatened threw their hands up. Then they took over the oil and started working with Turkey which was also a enter zone for wannabe recruits. Obama just let it evolve so they had their own funding and thus means to recruit and grow stronger.

All the while pretending he was at war he was enabling them. Now some of the US pilots are speaking out hopefully incognito. Now Putin going after their oil fields caused a retaliation with ISIS allies Turkey. Probably getting the oil at a discount while paying terrorist better than military whatever.  Follow the money

O sneaking refugees in Shock even Brown concerned.

Posted by goldielocks @ 9:44 on November 24, 2015

According to a report last week from Bloomberg, the White House is even refusing to cooperate with fellow Democrat governors who are open to accepting refugees, but merely want pertinent security information shared with local law enforcement agencies.

On Tuesday, several governors from both parties took part in a conference call with the White House where they urged administration officials to share more information about the refugees with them, such as notifications when refugees are settled in their state and access to the classified information obtained about individual refugees through the vetting process.

However, the Obama administration declined to make any extra efforts to assist and inform the states, even when pressed by putative allies like California’s ultra-progressive Gov. Jerry Brown.

“There was a real sense of frustration from all the governors that there is just a complete lack of transparency and communication coming from the federal government,” declared an unnamed GOP official who took part in the call.

According to Bloomberg, Florida Gov. Rick Scott asked bluntly if states could opt out of accepting the refugees, and the administration said “no.”

The administration’s excuse to avoid assisting the states is that there is no process in place for sharing information with them, and the White House sees no reason to develop one.

The truth is that the administration has no intentions of sharing any information because it simply doesn’t have very much information on the Syrian refugees, due to the chaotic and lawless situations many of them are fleeing, chaos and lawlessness being exploited by the radical Islamists.

Your opinion not mine.

How does this help the US? I doubt even the neocons are looking forward to nuclear war.
